Product Description

DEADLY COIL

Overlords and humanity battle to claim Earth in a war as old as the alien domination of the planet. Yet with each new offensive comes stunning new revelations--exposing mysteries that were unfathomable before Skydark but are now quite real and deadly. Still, hope lies in the brilliant counteroffensive led by the Cerberus rebels, for whom success means nothing less than returning Earth to mankind.

A RACE RESTORED

An exotic combination of reptilian and human DNA, the Najah are the revitalized original foot soldiers of the Earth's ancient alien masters, the Annunaki. Having survived the megacull of humanity, these half-cobra warriors vow to avenge their near extinction and usher in a new age on Earth. From a massive, underground war base in northern India, this monstrous force launches its cleansing fire. Kane and his allies have one hope--a renegade female Najah, reptilian and ruthless, whose alliance is both a promise...and a threat.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best out of the past several releases, May 31, 2009
Serpent's Tooth introduces yet another new lost (now found) civilization, this time its more snake-heads. We have a mix of the overlords, consortium, new serpents (with their own internal strife) and the redoubt crew saving the day - while wrecking almost everything in site. Lots of action, from Domi's hand-to-hand with a poison spitting foe to Kane, Bridget, and Grant battling flying saucers. Lakesh fighting to same snake royalty, and Nantes running amok (and introducing yet another potential foe into the mix.)

One of the most inventive in the series so far, and a book I actually enjoyed reading. Come on - this is Outlanders, not Moby Dick or Hamlet. This series is pulp - no more, no less. Mindless entertainment. In that, it delivers. :)

1.0 out of 5 stars What happened to this series?, March 20, 2009
Holy smokes but this series has taken a nose dive in the last few books!

Like the previous reviewer pointed out this one was better than the last but this one was filled with hero worshipping garbage. Let the deeds speak for themselves Mr. writer!

James Axler never used to write like this. Now this reads like a corny Superman or Batman comic book or cartoon.

There was a decent enough storyline, with some pretty good action, but the hero's come off a smarmy and always too smart and ahead of the bad guys. Makes it too predictable and even laughably boring at times.

After reading the last three books of Deathlands, which left these last couple of Outlanders in the dust, I think i may be finally giving up on this particular series.

Shame too. It haa a lot of good mileage in it. But in this economy, I can't afford to continue to buy a series that is obviously going downhill fast.
