3.0 out of 5 stars It's Ok, because amazon sent me a new one!
Well, I'm on the second bed right now. I use this bed everyday, not just as a guest bed. When we first bought it after about two weeks the seam on the lower right end of the bed began to show wear. Soon after my boyfriend and I were rolling into each other in the bed because it had deflated so much. It had a leak. I tried to use the patch that came with the bed and it did...

This is a review of the Serta Elevated Memory Foam Airbed. This bed delivers! We have slept on it for 2 nights plus had guests on it for 2 nights. It has replaced our fold out queen size sleeper and is so much more comfortable. The one thing that seemed different from what as advertised was that it looks like (in the picture on the website and on the box) it has a suede top -- when it fact it is vinyl. Because were worried about this feeling cold (in winter or our Minnesota spring!) or hot in the summer, we put a foam topper than we had used on our other bed on top of it (under the mattress pad). This also gave additional cushioning but that probably wasn't necessary. The bed is very firm if you pump it up all the way -- and of course, can be made less firm with less air. We'll see if it holds up over time but so far it is easy to set up/deflate and extremetly comfortable. So far it has been worth every penny.

I tried to use the patch that came with the bed and it did not work. I wound up using a tire repair kit. The seam must have been bad because it wound up blowing about 7 holes in all. I repaired as many as I could but it wasn't getting any better so I returned the bed. Amazon was very good about the return, I was able to keep the other bed while waiting for my new one and that's one of the reasons why I labeled the bed "OK". The ohane I have now we've had for about a month and a half and it's been holding up. The lower right corner looks a little worn but hasn't sprung a leak. Oh yeah, and about the memory foam, it's not the greatest. He doesn't like it, I think it's subpar defiantely. But it is only 1 inch thick. We've been looking for a topper to put on the bed. Well that's what I think!

5.0 out of 5 stars Serta elevated memory foam airbed, November 4, 2009

This review is from: Serta Elevated Memory Foam Airbed (Sports)
I purchased this bed as a replacement for an airbed that was not elevated and had a diamond pattern on the top, creating a slight ripple effect that was not as comfortable to sleep on for long periods of time. The memory foam on this Serta was a delight. It was smooth and not lumpy. It made sleeping much easier.

Since my relatives typically stay weeks, not days, it was important to choose an airbed that would be comfortable. The only complaint they had was that they did have to add a bit of air to the airbed every other night or so, but we think this is because the airbed is new. The instructions mention this possibility as well and that there is some stretch that may occur initially. However, not much air was added.

I rent a room in another city during the work week and wanted a reliable, comfortable mattress to sleep on while I am not at home. I didn't want a sore neck or back to make me regret the mattress I chose, and this air bed hasn't disappointed me at all. It is actually close to as comfortable as my $1200 mattress at home, the memory foam is great. I wake up well rested and am glad I don't have to worry about how I'll sleep.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Quality Air Bed, August 29, 2010

I was looking for a bed that

1)I wouldn't have to replace every year or two due to slow leaks or other problems that I've had with the $50 mattresses I've owned in the past.

2)Easy and quick to inflate and deflate.

3)Has a foam mattress feel to it - more supple than cheap air mattresses - less like a swimming pool raft.

4)Would fit into a $200 budget

This mattress is stable, has a strong (enough) built-in air pump (that both inflates and deflates in less than 10 mins), it is made of thick - yet supple material, and could definitely endure dozens of inflation/deflations. And it sits high enough off the ground, its as though it has a box spring underneath it.

Bottom Line: I'm very satisfied!!! (And I am fairly picky)

4.0 out of 5 stars By far, the bes air mattress I have purchased thus far but..., November 22, 2010

This review is from: Serta Elevated Memory Foam Airbed (Sports)
Knowing that I was purchasing a product from a well known company was key for me because I have purchased 3 previous air matresses before this one. This Serta mattress is super comfortable and super sturdy. I have had it since May 27, 2010. Delivered in one day for an extra $4 bucks. No leakge problems at all. All of a sudden, a couple of days ago, I have a large lump going across the head of the matress. This makes the bed uneven and awkward. This has happen to me before but in a shorter time frame with a lower quality mattress. Needless to say, I will be calling the customer care number tomorrow to see if there is some type of limited warranty. At the time I bought this mattress, it cost me roughly $210 so expected at least a year. Serta is still a reputable mattress company, if you are using your air mattrees for long-term use, make sure you have it on some type of platform or specially made box springs for air mattress.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really impressed!!, October 3, 2010

I bought this airbed after much research. It was originally for my parents to sleep on when they came to visit but after an unexpected surgury, I ended up using it myself for 3 weeks straight. There are many features of this bed that are really great. The height of the bed makes it easy to get in and out of. This was important since my parents are in their early 70's and for me it was so important when I was in post op pain. The memory foam is a nice addition and does make a difference though I found that supplementing the bed with an eggcrate foam and mattress cover made it even that much more comfortable. the bed inflates in less than 5 minutes and throughout the 3 weeks I was bed ridden I only had to add a little air once. the pantented sheet cover holders are excellent and kept the sheets nice and taut. Overall I could not be more satisfied with my choice. I guess the only thing I could think of that is slightly bothersome is the storage of the airmattress when not in use. Even when it is completely deflated I have found absolutely no way to fit it back into it's storage bag.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment., August 29, 2010
This review is from: Serta Elevated Memory Foam Airbed (Sports)
In the past, I've owned two other airbeds, first, the Ozark Trail Queen Memory Foam Airbed (discontinued) and the Serta Elevated Pillow Top Queen Airbed. The Ozark Trail Memory Foam Air Bed was super comfortable, but the sides tended to bulge out. Memory Foam was thick and uniform across the top and it had a nice velvety surface. After a few months of use, I let it get too close to the electric heater and that was that.
Then I purchased the Serta Elevated Pillow Top Queen Airbed. I liked mostly everything about this bed, the sides stayed in, the bed was nice and firm when inflated properly. But the comfort of pillow top didn't match up to the OT Memory Foam. You can feel the slight ridges of the bed. So I figured since the Serta Elevated Pillow Top Queen Airbed is a good product, I can be sure that the Serta Elevated Memory Foam Airbed would be a good buy.
After I received the Serta Elevated Memory Foam Queen Airbed and took it out of the box, I was surprised at how unaesthetic it was. The Memory Foam layer appeared to be super thin and the top wasn't velvety like the OT airbed, but instead felt like plastic. I figured when it came down to it, it wouldn't matter as long as I covered the airbed with some sheets. All that mattered was its level of comfort.
So I tried it out. Appearances weren't deceiving. The Memory Foam layer was indeed super thin. The OT airbed had a nice, thick layer of memory foam, providing uniform comfort across the airbed. For this bed, you might as well not have had memory foam at all, you could barely feel it. You could tell that even when properly inflated, it didn't feel uniformly flat when you lied on it. The most damning characteristic of this airbed was that it sagged in the middle where you lied. I sleep on my back, and the sag caused my arms and the sides of my back to come up and my middle back (spinal area) to be a bit further down. I never had that problem with the Serta Elevated Pillow Top Queen Airbed, so it came as a big surprise. After taking forever to fall asleep, I woke up with my back aching. One night was enough. I bought it on [...], which has a horrible policy on airbeds. Now it's in my closet and I've had to reuse my Serta Elevated Pillow Top Airbed.

Bought this for when my parents came to visit. My parents are both in their 70s and they loved this bed. The bed never leaked and stayed inflated the whole time. I never had to reinflate it once. I would highly recommend this!!
