5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible, Brutal Gore Metal
I first got in this band because I heard they were touring with Cannibal Corpse so I downloaded some of their music and then I bought this CD. And I must say I was VERY impressed. This band sounds like a mix of Mortician and Exhumed. This means we get the brutal fast drumming and guitar playing we get from Mortician and the sick vocals/lyrics of Exhumed in one band. This...

3.0 out of 5 stars 6/10 = Not a bad cd but needs to be more solid
Don't get me wrong, I like this cd, but it's very boring in some places and thats why i gave it 3 stars. Some of the songs are very good, like Chunk Blower and Testicular Manslaughter and a couple of others. The vocals are very demonic and are some of the lowest I've heard. This vocalist is darn pretty good.

The guitarists are quite talented and create some great...

This band is definitely better than Exhumed, after listening to an Exhumed CD for 3 or more times it gets tiring you can listen to this CD over and over and never get tired. Cattle Decapitation are brutal, sick, catchy, and just all around good to music to headbang to. I would recommend this to ANY death metal fan and I hope this band gets more popular. My favorite songs are "Pedeadstrians", "Chunk Blower", and "To Serve Man". Oh yeah and one other thing is the members of this band are devout vegetarians who think eating meat is wrong. Whatever, if you like brutal death/goregrind buy this.

5.0 out of 5 stars One word: DEVASTATING!!!, October 25, 2004

This review is from: To Serve Man (Audio CD)
Over the weekend, I bought Cattle Decapitation's first album To Serve Man along with their new album Humanure. When I listened to some of the samples, I was totally amazed. This album is a relentless brutal slamming grind/death metal assault in the veins of Cannibal Corpse and Carcass that makes you come back for more. Killer songwriting, jackhammering blast beats, lightining fast guitar riffs, this band has it all, even Travis Ryan's deep vocals really shine. After listening to the opening song Testicular Manslaughter, you know this disc is 100% Brutality. The second track I Eat Your Skin (my favorite song on here) has an addictive guitar riff very much similar to the riff on Brujeria's Laboratorio Cristlitos. This is true death meatal and Cattle Decapitaion are the future. Other standouts include To Serve Man, Chunk Blower, Writhe In Putressence, Deadmeal, Everyone Deserves To Die, and The Regurgitation Of Corpses. Recommended for fans of Carcass and Cannibal Corpse, buy it now.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite bands, January 18, 2006

Cattle Decapitation seems to be one of those bands that you either love or hate. I haven't heard all of their earlier material so I can't comment on that but I really love this album as well as Humanure. I can't really pick between the two on which one is the better album since I prefer some songs off of this one and some off of Humanure. Sure some of the songs sound similar but if your into death metal/grindcore then you know that this isn't a problem. To Serve Man is probably my favorite track by them although there are other standout tracks as well. As always, Travis Ryan does an excellent job with the vocals and the production is well done overall. If your a fan of Cattle Decapitation and have yet to pick up this album, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars An evolution to the uprising - Cattle Decapitation, June 14, 2004
This review is from: To Serve Man (Audio CD)
This disc, is wonderful. Vocals that make you want to scream, f*ck, vomit, and peel your own face off, all at the same time. Guitaring that has turned from their early days of speedcore/thrash-punk/noisecore, to true death metal, slamming into your eardrums and raping them violently with screeching and bellowing. Drums, well, yes, they are just exceedingly fast (not as fast as their older stuff) but hell, what metal band has any kind of exceptional drumming? IT's double bass, with some others added in. Nothing special. It's a sidenote comepared to the rest of the disc.

I speak of their 'older' days, and also HIGHLY recommend, anyone who would listen to this album and call themselves a Cattle Decap. fan, to search out their older albums. Human Jerky, and Homovore are several of them. Though sometimes they can be rare, or hard to find, they will be worth the price you must pay. As I stated above, their old days were more based in speed/thrash/noisecore as opposed to death metal, and the vocals are a bit cleaner (not quite so heavy on the deep growls, more focused on being able to hear both voices at the same time) than they are on To serve man, also as a sidenote, To serve man has some of the longest songs Cattle Decap. has ever written, their older songs were more to the tune of say... 34 seconds, give or take a few. If you are into heavy gore-metal, these guys are for you. 5 stars all the way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Good, May 21, 2003
This review is from: To Serve Man (Audio CD)
A friend of mine loved this band and tryed to get me into them about 3 years ago. I didn't have much interest because I was sick of the usual noise bands like Ulcer or Abstain, and I'd seen The Locust (some of the same members as this band) live quite a few times, and was bored to death with the mindless drudgery of crust bands. I'd only heard Cattle Decapitation's first album, and I threw this into the same catagory as the other bands I mentioned before. The price is what convinced me to pick this up and give them another chance. I'm glad I did, because the energy on this album is incredible, and mixed with how technically well played the music is makes for quite the thrill-ride of an album. Good for the grind fans out there, the best I can describe it is the vocal style of Unholy Grave mixed with the musical brutality of Dying Fetus. It's just too bad they didn't put more of they're own style into it. You can tell they're very talented musicians, but they don't ever go far out of the basic grindcore mold. Still a brutally good band and an all together great album; Not a classic, but worth the price being asked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sick gore/death/grind, February 22, 2003
This review is from: To Serve Man (Audio CD)
This is Cattle Decapitation's most recent release. Their previous releases (Human Jerky, Homovore) are pretty much in the same style. Cattle Decapitation plays brutal gore/grind and is one the most brutal bands around. This is not their best release, Human Jerky is slightly better, but by no means is this weak or bad. If you like Cattle Decapitation then I recommend you check out: Bloody Gore, Brodequin, Infected Flesh, and Bowel Stew.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fresh american butal death, August 1, 2004
This review is from: To Serve Man (Audio CD)
This Cd is amazing. Cattle decapitation plays american grind/death metal with sweedish death metal influences, but dont expect a lot of variety in the songriting and composing. Music ist fast (grinding blasbeats goes all along the songs) technical and brutal. Voice is another outstandinbg point: Death vocals on the front (cant you sing lower than him?) and blackish vocals on the background. Well, I want to hear the new CD: Humanure. Some people says its better than To serve man.
Fav tracks: To seve man, Pedeadstrians and Chunk blower.

5.0 out of 5 stars WTF?, July 12, 2004

This review is from: To Serve Man (Audio CD)
>>>I am getting so sick and tired of hearing people call bands like Cattle Decapitation and Nile death metal. All of those bands are worthless nu-metal bands. Not one moment on this cd is heavy at all.Cattle decapitation are the worst nu-metal band ever.If you want to listen to real death metal, buy Smash Mouth's latest which has the death metal cover of the Beatles hit "Im A Believer".Or pick up anything from Limp Bizkit. You can get those at your local independent record store. This Cattle Decapitation band is also on TRL way too much.Seein those girls outside the MTV studios screaming "The lead singer from Cattle Decapitation is hot!!!!" makes me want to vomit.Spare yourself from this, because it is nothing more than candy coated radio friendly garbage.

This...I...I have no words for this, (...). Smash Mouth?!?! Limp Bizkit?!?! Smash Mouth is a poser radio friendly pop-rock band, and limp bizkit is just crap! And there is one moment that is heavy on this album...THE ENTIRE FREAKING THING!!!!!!!!!! You could at least listen to samples of this album! Cattle Decapitation is an UNDERGROUND band, so the ONLY shows they'll be on are Fuse's "Uranium" and MTV2's "Headbangers Ball"! And about the girls part...I highly doubt ANY 12 y/o girl has seen the lead singer, or should i say screamer. And radio friendly? Go to darklyrics.com and search for cattle decapitation and look at some lyrics in their songs. You'll be surprised...
Oh, and by thw way, The Monkees did "I'm A Believer", dummy!
----------------------------------------------------------------
Now on to To Serve Man: I don't even own this album, I reviewed it to teach that limp bizkit fan some real music!

Than you and good-bye.

this band is really heavy and has disgusting lyrics. lol, can't get any better than this. the only reason i gave it 4 stars is cause it got a little repetative but other than that it is a good cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars nothing new..., September 9, 2004
This review is from: To Serve Man (Audio CD)
....but who cares? this is just some straight up, gore-soaked death metal. plain and simple. fast guitar, groove, and blast beats....and i must mention that the blast beats on this cd are some of the FASTEST ive ever heard; quite an amazing feat, if you ask me. the vocals are another high point, the guy can surely do some pretty crazy thing with his voicebox. great album for those "anti-human" moods....
