Just read about Lenny,
This review is from: Served Cold (West Coast Crime) (Paperback)
If you have ever walked on the streets of New York City, if you are Jewish, if you appreciate wicked wit, or if quirky language turns you on, Served Cold, a Lenny Schneider Mystery by Ed Goldberg is for you. I never stopped laughing. I reread phrases over and over again in awe of the clever way they were written. Lenny grows on you. Paying the rent is hard, but Lenny has other, more important priorities. He is loyal to his friends, a fascinating set of people, and he loves New York food. The guy is bright and extremely funny. He is out to find a Holocaust prison guard for his Uncle Sol, a Holocaust survivor, who has a thirst for revenge. But mostly the book is about Lenny, a gem of a character, who leads a somewhat self-indulgent life, serving others. I could not put the book down and now I want to return to New York, just to experience the street culture once again.

Great Humor,
This review is from: Served Cold (Paperback)
Lenny Schneider, the Hebrew Gumshoe, is hilarious and so are his friends. This book was a joy to read. The only reservation I had about Served Cold was the amount of names that you had to keep straight by the end of the book. Otherwise it was very entertaining and exciting. The humor is the strongest point of this book as well as insights to the Jewish culture. As a Christian, I found the book very interesting from a cultural point of view. Funny, interesting and complex, I am looking forward to many more books by Ed Goldberg.
