Heidi Callahan has been in love with Joe Rafferty since she was sixteen. She started out doing odd jobs at his garage until she had been old enough for him to hire as a full time mechanic. She had never been afraid of going after what she wanted, and wondered why it was so difficult with Rafe. She knew he saw her as a little sister, but she didn't feel like the nine...

Rafe is starting to see his mechanic, Heidi, in a new light, but he is older and feels she needs time to grow, not some old guy taking away a chance for her to have fun while she is young.

Will these two ever see eye to eye? Can they tune up their relationship or will it be totaled before it has a chance?

Servicing Rafferty is going to rack up the miles because it is smoking hot! Janie Mason is great. I loved the idea of a female mechanic because that is just hot. Poor Heidi had her work cut out for her with Rafe. Rafe is looking out for Heidi, who is sweet, but Heidi didn't want sweet she wanted hot. Rafe and Heidi are great together and I loved how they played off of each other. Ms. Mason threw a few wretches into the story which made it fun. I can't wait to read what else Ms. Mason has to offer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot and Fun!, August 14, 2008
This review is from: Servicing Rafferty (Kindle Edition)
A fun and hot romance from a great new name. This realistic story is revving it up right out of the gate and you won't want to put it down. Heidi and Rafe are each strong in their own right and the action is fiery. Cars! Handcuffs! Steamy seduction!

Hold on tight, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Heidi Callahan has been in love with Joe Rafferty since she was sixteen. She started out doing odd jobs at his garage until she had been old enough for him to hire as a full time mechanic. She had never been afraid of going after what she wanted, and wondered why it was so difficult with Rafe. She knew he saw her as a little sister, but she didn't feel like the nine years between them was a problem like he did.

When the town widow set her sights on Rafe, she knew she had to do something drastic. Using her lost kitten as an excuse, she asked him for help. He knew something nefarious was up when he found himself handcuffed to her couch. After failing to control his baser instincts, the next thing he knew they were in the middle of the most erotic encounter he had ever experienced. He should have left well enough alone, but made the mistake of voicing his regrets out loud.

When Heidi realized he regretted their time together, she knew she could no longer work for him, and turned in her resignation. When Rafe saw her letter, it was the reality jolt he needed. He didn't want to live one more minute without laying claim to the woman he loved. He just hoped it wasn't too late for them.

Heidi is an appealing character that started out with absolutely nothing. She had no one as her mother walked out when she was young, and her father was recently deceased. Rafe is a man that needs to be needed. Although Heidi didn't need him to take care of her, she loved that he wanted to be there for her. This short story should have had an emotional punch, but it missed the mark. What should have been steamy erotic scenes fell short also. The writing just lacked the content to draw the reader in. My recommendation is to skip this one.
