About the Author
John-Roger, DSS, is the founder of the Church of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. He has appeared on numerous radio and television shows and been a featured guest on Larry King Live, Politically Incorrect, and The Roseanne Show. He is the author and coauthor of more than 50 books, including Fulfilling Your Spiritual Promise, Loving Each Day for Peacemakers, and The Rest of Your Life. Paul Kaye, DSS, is an ordained minister and the president of the Church of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. They both live in Los Angeles.

This is one of my favorite books by Drs. John-Roger and Paul Kaye, and they've written some amazing reads. I love this book so much because each reflection on service starts out with a quote that captures a key to giving and receiving, followed by information that truly brings out the essence of service. For example:
""See first that you yourself deserve to be a giver, and an
instrument of giving. For in truth it is life that gives unto life--
while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness."
KHALIL GIBRAN
What is the love inside of you unless you give it away?
Giving is the manifestation of loving. Without giving, you
may be living. But living without loving is only existence,
and existence often is a state of lack and an empty hope
that someone will come along and save you from all the
things that are happening "to" you.
Loving fills the lack and opens the awareness of the inner
wisdom and the knowledge that you are the creator of your
universe and that nothing happens to you that you do not
create, promote, or allow. Loving is that active, dynamic
