Dalida had a unique voice, was a superb interpreter, and a great performer. It is no wonder that she is the 3rd biggest selling female singing artist of all time after only Madonna and Celine Dion (I like Madonna; Celine...blecch). Madonna has also stated she likes Dalida. One wonders if Dalida had made a strong effort to conquer the USA how much higher on that list she could have been. Anyway. This CD is a great intro to Dalida and the CD that has led me to buy 15 more Dali CDs! The compilation covers many of her big hits. ALL are great. My favorites are Il venait d'avoir 18 ans (about an older woman sleeping with an 18 y.o. boy); Mourir sur scene (she says... I want to die on stage); Soleil soleil (great dance number about the sun); A ma maniere (an astonishing and highly personal vocal performance--one of Dali's best for sure); Bambino; Ciao ciao bambina.

Classics!,

Wonderful collection including songs from both 'Orlando' & 'Barclay' Labels. Early recordings like "Bambino" are treasures, her personal "Mourir Sur Scene" & "Pour Te Dire Je T'aime" are Classics! If you don't know much about Dalida, this is the CD for you.
