It was cute and fun to see the sesame street characters as babies with their parents and relatives. My little one loves it, she is 14 months old and I just bought her both videos in the set. They dance and sing and encourages play with your little ones. The songs have a catchy and upbeat tune to them. I know the news had these videos portrayed as being bad for your toddler because the AAP says toddlers under 2 should not watch TV. But lets get real... your kids are going to SEE tv, especially if you have other kids in your house. I know that with these videos, I do have control over what she is viewing so she is not just sitting and watching TV, but programs that have been carefully picked out for her. These videos are nice and holds her attention for at least 30 mins. She dances around to the songs... i love it...

I bought this video for my 8 month old son, Luke. He LOVES it!!!! This video calms him down when he starts crying. The amazing thing though is my 4 year old daughter, Lindsey is also CRAZY about this DVD. They have very catchy songs that all the family (my husband & I included) find ourself singing during the day. We like it when our 4 yr old daughter beggs to watch it. This video is very enjoyable!!!!!!!!!

Overall... I would HIGHLY sugest this video!!! I only wish they had more then just the two videos out.

The Sesame Beginnings series (Beginning Together, Make Music Together, Exploring Together) is just wonderful! They are my 2-year old's favorites and my 3-year old loves them as well. All three of the DVD's are very cute (although the Make Music Together is the favorite of my children). Features Sesame characters (Elmo, Cookie Monster, Prairie Dawn, and Big Bird) as babies and has many cute and catchy songs. GREAT set of movies for your little one! You won't regret this purchase! I think these are the best Sesame Street movies yet.

We have checked out both Sesame Beginnings from the library and are now buying them. My daughter is almost two and she LOVES them. She learns a lot of mastery from watching the babies. She was all consumed with Elmos World but now asks for these videos. The music is really wonderful and she sings and dances along.

We have both Beginning Together and Making Music Together, both are great. My 10mo. old loves the songs and bounces and claps to the beat. The songs are catchy and cute and even enjoyable for the parents. I highly recommend. We prefer Making Music Together to this one although both are great!

It starts with the doctor introducing herself three times before the kids part starts, then lecture on interacting with your baby. Then 1/2 the video is adults doing the things the cartoon characters talk or sing about. My baby lost interest before the fun part even started. When I finally got him to watch it, it switched from all the bright colors to the parents reading or talking to their kids, and he lost interest again. If it was just the bright colored characters and less of the adults showing you or telling you, it might be better. Babies like to watch other babies, but adults reading or talking just isn't that interesting to them in a video. It's not one of our favorites because of that.

I bought this dvd because it was also in spanish and my baby only watches it in spanish. She is 6 months old and likes watching the fluffy figures, she smiles and dances with them. I don't give it 5 stars because although they use good spanish the names of the characters remain in english eventhough they have their own name in spanish.

My son has enjoyed this dvd. Cute songs, fun content, updated sesame street. I bought several of the books because we liked this dvd so much. It is just something different to enjoy with elmo's daddy giving him a bath, big bird looking in the mirror.... We liked it mostly when my son was under one year.

No toys with batteries,and no TV, my husband and I said. We wanted real life for our daughter and were good at reading aloud and playing patty-cake. Then, when our baby was 10 months old, my brother, who works for a TV station, gave us this DVD. And to be polite, we watched it.

This is not a show to teach your child how to watch television. The announcer even says, "Watch this with your child; then, turn it off." This is a program wherein the parents can learn to sing with and play with babies. Sad as it is, some parents don't know how or think it's too hard. The songs here are cute, easy, and catchy,and it will be easy for even the most self-concious caregiver to play peekaboo or baby-in-the-mirror with the tools this DVD provides. And even if you did a lot of babysitting as a child, it's a good thing to learn new songs to do as the years go by.

The puppetry is amazing (they really made the facial expressions and body movements look baby-like), and Brandy and her daughter as the wrap around were sincere and heart warming.

Some parents will use this as a baby sitter anyway (hence the one star deduction) but those are the ones who would no matter what, and if you are gonna use a DVD that way this is a better choice than Barney or Power Rangers.

This really can be a fun and useful video if used right.

I purchased this DVD for my daughter at Christmas. We already had the "Making Music Together" DVD, which she absolutely loves, so we thought that we would add to the Sesame Street Beginnings collection with this DVD and the "Exploring Together" DVD. This video is designed and scripted to be the first of the four DVD's, with the characters starting off as babies and then meeting for the first time at the end. The dialogue with Brandy and her daughter is delightful and the songs are mostly engaging (though I think that the "Making Music Together" DVD had more engaging music). This is one that is often asked to be played and enjoyed in our home.
