Best potty seat out there!,
By
This review is from: Sesame Sidekick Potty (Baby Product)
We have 2 types of potty seats for my son. One where they can sit but you have to pour everything out and this one. By far he loves this one! With a step stool it's perfect. The padding is much more comfortable for him and it makes him feel like he's really using a "big boy potty." Plus he gets used to reaching for the toilet paper and flushing a real toilet. As for the splash guard... it's the only one that's stayed on. He's learned how to take the guard off the other toilet and then we have urine all over the ground.
He's much prouder of himself with this seat as opposed to the other potty chair. I would love to have one in each bathroom. It's also a snap for adults to take out of the toilet themselves when they have to go. I highly HIGHLY reccommend this potty seat.

doesn't work for boys...,

the seat is made for girls obviously, as there is a large gap for the pee shield to slide into the front of the seat, but it's so large, when a boy pees, it gets stuck in the gap and you have to wash the seat out every time, defeating the purpose of them learning to do it on their own. and after only a month of use, the vinyl is starting to crack on the edge, making my son nervous to sit on that part. also, after having to rinse it off on a regular basis, it looks as if the cartoon print is wearing off. overall, quite disappointing.

Love it!,

My son really loves this potty seat. Now, whenever he has to go he looks at me and says Elmo Potty. What attracted me to this seat (besides the Elmo thing) was the attachment in the front so the pee would be directed down into the toilet. But, honestly, it was just in the way and when my son would climb up onto the potty he was having a hard time beause of it so I took it off. Now he can easily get up onto the potty, with the help of his step stool, all by himself.

Be VERY, VERY careful with this seat,

We used this seat to train our son. While he loved it because he got to sit on the 'big' potty, it created a ratehr harrowing event. His 'winky' got caught on little plastic spray guard and caused a 3/4" cut around the shaft. Although there was no permanent damage, there was a ton of blood and it was terrifying for all of us.
I recommend finding a seat that has no sharp edges where little parts can get caught.

quite satisfied,

We do own the white version of the Sesame sidekick potty and I do have to say I am quite pleased with it. Our son likes to use it since it is soft. The splash guard he does not use (he makes sure he pees downward) therefore I cannot rate its function. The only thing I would like to see is an elongated version, so it might fit more snug.

My daughter started potty training early - 16 months and was trained at 22 months. From the beginning she wanted to sit on the big toilet, so we purchased this item. It works great. We now have 3 of them, 1 for the house, 1 for daycare and one for the road. (we tried other travel seats, but she didn't like them) I am very impressed with this item. Very easy to use and clean. Fits all size toilets. Since it is a complete oval, there is a lot of security for the little one as well. Great potty seat.

Great seat for training,
This review is from: Sesame Sidekick Potty (Baby Product)
My toddler loves this little potty seat. It makes him feel secure and while he's waiting for something to "happen" he enjoys pointing out and naming his favorite sesame street characters. Since we got this seat, he often asks to "pee-pee in toilet?" and it has been a great start to introducing him to the potty. the only thing is - we use it without the little pee-guard since I worry about it scratching him if he tries to get off on his own.

My son was excited to see his favorite characters on this potty seat. It works very well in any toilet. Easy in, easy out.

I am not a mom who favors the fantasy potties being sold today. I believe a child potty training should be taught how to really use the bathroom. The fantasy potties have become toys to my son. This seat he loves. It stimulates his development because he recognizes his favorite characters plus it fits right on the toilet. He reaches for it puts it in place and has an interest in toilet training. I have paired this with some potty training videos and books. He loves to copy the videos. He brings a book to read while sitting on the potty. This seat has generated the most interest I've seen yet in my son and seriously potty training.

comfy and fun, but isn't always stable,

It is a fun alternative to the all in one potty seat, and more comfy since it is cushioned. We definitely needed a potty seat intially but my daughter took to this "big girl" seat straight away. The downside to this is that it can move around and although it hasn't been a problem so far I worry that she might be unstable on it. I think the design could have been better, but is worth while and easily cleanable and portable (for stays with the grandparents).
