Let me start by saying that at this point it is packed back up in a box and in the closet. Part of the reason for it - smell, the second part is size.
smell - well I can't blame the manufacturer for it, but if you plan to put it in child's room - first fill it with air, place it in back yard (if you have one) and after a couple of days place it in the room, otherwise the room will stink of new plastic for weeks.

Size - this thing is much bigger than it looks. If you have a huge room - go for it, but if the room you put it in is small - think twice - this thing is relatively huge.

Pump - if you don't have an air pump in your house- you should buy one. Manual is OK, but it will take you 20+ minutes to blow all of the different sections of this thing. Manual pumps go for 5-7 bucks in your local drug store.

In summary - the toy is OK if you have a enough space, can ventilate the smell, and buy a pump.

After reviewing several ball pits, we chose the Sesame Street Ball Pit for our 19 month old; mainly because it had Elmo, was a decent size (although it's rather large once it's set up), and was under $40 with shipping. My son loves the ball pit. He jumps through the back doorway and side opening. He plays with the basketball hoop and push-through hole, and buries himself in the balls. There is not a slide which was listed on Amazon's description. Although we have a lot of fun with the pit, there are some drawbacks. Namely: it comes with only 75 balls (200-300 more fills it nicely), it is constructed of cheaper plastic, and the blow-up rails bend down so our son can jump in or out where he's not supposed to (he loves it...I have to correct him). Overall, it's a lot of fun if you have room. It will fit 2 children comfortably, up to 4 is a squeeze.

I purchased this for my 1 and 2 year olds. After reading reviews I made sure to find a space to fit it. We also inflated it a week before the birthday part to clear any plastic smell.

Since it's so big the kids did find it before the party but they love it.
Plan to get at least 300 balls though. I probabbly spent more on balls than the ball pit but it's worth it because the kids play together often in there.

I was a little unsure about buying this ball pit after reading previous reviews, but I am more than happy that I did! My daughter LOVES it. It is a large ball pit, definitely not a toy for the bedroom unless the room is huge. We have ours set up in the garage and pull it out to the grass so that our daughter can play in it outside. It would be great in a big playroom as well. When we set it up, we set it up outside and have left it in the garage, so the plastic smell hasn't been overwhelming at all. We really haven't even noticed it. An air pump is highly recommended as well, we used the air pump for our air mattress and it was up in minutes.
I purchased two hundred extra balls and it is full, I think that 75 wouldn't be enough.
As far as durability, we haven't had any problems with it. It is a plastic inflatable toy, so it can obviously get holes, but we haven't had any. It seems pretty durable.
I am extremely satisfied with this product, and as I said before, my daughter loves it! I would definitely recommend.

I give this ball pit 4 stars because my niece loves it! However, I would agree that it looks bigger than it is after you get it blown up - and you do need more balls! I bought this for my 13 month old niece - and she absolutly loves it - however after only 2 months with it - it is starting to rip at the seams in some areas - this could be due to the fact that she doesnt care to use the door on it - she just climbs over the edges. However, i gave it 4 stars because it is one of her favorite places to play - its like her little playhouse! Also great buy since I have amazon prime and didnt have to pay for shipping!!

We gave this to our 2 yr old for Christmas and she absolutely loved it. I did buy extra balls when I ordered it and that helped a lot. Sad part is by the 3rd day we had a whole in the front street lights. The good part, it is constructed with different areas holding the air so the whole thing does not collapse. But it is difficult to re-seal with patches when the leak is in the seam. She loved it, but it is tough to maintain.

I bought this for my son when he was 14 months old. He loves to rough house and wrestle and I wanted something to help get his energy out. He is now 19 months (and 30 lbs.) and still loves it!

Here is my experience:

THE SMELL: I opened and unfolded the toy and put it in the garage for a few hours. I just couldn't wait to get it set up so I brought it in the house later that afternoon and it was fine.

SET UP: It took forever to blow up but it is worth it! I used a bike hand-pump that I had.

BALLS: The product only comes with enough balls to just about cover the bottom. I let my son play with it like this for a while because he had just started to walk and wanted a firm footing. A month later I added a pack of 200 balls a now he can dive in.

SIZE: It is HUGE! We have a spare room that we are able to keep this in. It is not worth setting up and taking down. If you don't have a play room or if your child's room is small I would pass on this item.

FUN FACTOR: my son and all the kids (toddlers) that come over LOVE this toy. I let them have at it. They dive over each side and over each other. It is SO FUN to watch them play!! I'm not a big fan of ball pits in public play areas because of the sanitary issues. I'm glad we have our own that it is perfectly clean.

AGE: I think is is a great toy for 1-3 year olds. Two neighbor boys come and play and they are 3 and 5. The item has held up but I would not purchase it for older kids.

I'm not sure why it says slide because there isn't one, maybe they wan't you to "slide in" and not jump in because it doesn't come with enough balls to do so.

We have had this toy for 5 months. I have only had to add more air a few times and it is going strong. Overall it is worth the money. It is the BEST $25 I have ever spent!!!!!!!!!

Unlike a lot of other users, I had no problem with the smell, however, I did set it outside in the yard for a few hours prior to blowing up the first time, I didn't unfold it or anything, just took it out of the box. I thought it was going to be huge after reading other reviews, in my opinion it was not huge, but was larger then most ball pits. I did buy 300 more balls and that was perfect. I have a 3 & 5 year old and they love this. It holds up to them. I don't leave it up all the time, only a few days at a time, like on weekends, that way they don't get bored with it. Definitely buy more balls for it. Also I don't know why it is called Slide'n play as there is no slide anywhere on it.

I bought this for my sons one year old party. He did not want to go
in it but the kids age 2 to 4 loved it! He did however love the balls
but you need to buy at least 300 more balls to really enjoy it.
They definately need to include more, but for the price you cant beat it.
And I recommend getting an auto air pump
with a little nozzle. Delivery was super fast.

This ball pit would not stay inflated. It deflated the first day we got it. It would not keep air in it no matter how many times we pumped it up. The seems ripped in many places. This would have been a great product if it were made better. Good news is that Amazon accepted my return of this product and refunded my money.
