If you read the other reviews posted no one is actively potty training their child. I just did a 3 day potty training "boot camp" (i call it) and it worked wonderfully.. however, we have a few different potties and this is not the best for boys.. Our son had to sit as far back as he could when peeing otherwise it went straight over the guard onto the floor. He loved the flushing noise but this potty is not ideal for potty training boys. The best is the fisher price froggy potty (FOR BOYS)! He never peed on the floor with the frog potty, but unfortunately that happened several times with this potty.

I bought this potty chair for my nephew an he loves it! He went potty the first time he sat down. I read the reviews before I bought this product and many people said with boys they peed over but my nephew has no problems. It just depends on the kid. If your child lives Elmo this is a great product!

This potty is quite stable and has a fairly deep bowl, unlike a lot of the others that are super shallow, which is important if you don't want your kids poop to hit the bottom before they are even done with their business. It's a mess you won't want to deal with, especially if your kid is one of those types that panics when they get poop on themselves. Nobody wants a frantic poo-smeared midget running screaming down their hallway. Get it for deep bowl, because you can really never get ALL the poop footprint staining out of your light colored carpet.

Anyway, the flushing/Elmo sounds are cute and may help get your kids interested in the potty, as well as help teach them about flushing, assuming of course, that they don't think this potty is some throne of death with an evil muppet inside that is waiting to swallow them whole. In that case, your child may, out of sheer terror, simply bypass this potty entirely and go straight for learning how to potty on the toilet. In which case, this potty still gets the job done like any evil muppet potty should.

If your kid loves 'melmo' as much as mine this is perfect! Also if you don't know elmo laughs and it makes a flush noise and your kid pushes the lever while your on the john it will scare the crap out you so it can work as a laxative too.

I bought this for my grandson (just turned two) because he had shown interest in potty training. Three weeks later, and he has mostly trained himself! He loves it. Now, all we need is instructions as to how to get him "off" the potty! LOL. This potty is easy to clean, and has that cup in the front that catches the "fountain" that little boys are so prone to produce... This chair is worth every penny!

It's a pretty basic potty chair with the added bonuses of the flush sound effects, the Elmo congratulatory cheers, and the removable toddler seat adapter

My granddaughter just turned 2 and we gave her this chair last night - she loved it and immediately wanted her diaper off to sit on it and try to potty. She also loved the flusher - a big hit!

This potty is good for girls, if a boy sits on the potty you will be cleaning pee off the floor. The shield is not big enough to block now I to find something to probably glue to the shield so he can use it. My son loves it, especially pressing down the handle to flush it every five seconds!! I would not recommend for boys!!!

I highly recommend this Potty because not only is it pleasing/fun to look at for both parent and child but it is smartly made.
My son loves to flush the toilet-excited at the noise it makes-So how cool is it that this Potty has a handle that mimicks what happens when a real toilet is flushed! My son loves to pull it and listen to the cool sound :) . I also like that it grows with your child until they are comfortable enough to use an actual toilet-Yep! It can be taken apart so that theres the part that goes over the toilet to keep them from falling in yet will enable them to use the big kid toilet. However, until that point is reached-the part that catches the poo/pee can be detached and lifted out with ease to get rid of in the actual toilet. I highly recommend this potty.

As a Nanny I know potty training Can be difficult however for all of you complaining about ur boys peeing on the floor when using this potty there is a simple solution. You need to teach them to push thier penis down so they pee into the toilet. Do this and you will never have to clean pee up off the floor again. Boys need to be taught how aim as well.
