This adorable adventure game stars Elmo, who has lost his blanket somewhere in Grouchland. Children can join the search by leading Elmo from screen to screen, meeting characters, playing games and solving problems that ultimately bring the return of the beloved blanket. The use of humor makes for great fun, for instance, kids can make "hair don'ts" at the Ugly Parlor, spray cars with gloopy glop at the Car Mess and make stinky cheese and sardine ice cream cones at the Bad Humor Cart. There are open-ended and goal-directed activities and children can choose to play the adventure at two difficulty levels, which will help with the program's replayability. This is definitely more an entertainment title than a strong learning program, but it's a sheer delight.

I purchased this for my 2 year old who is now 2 1/2 yo. He absolutely loves it and became quite proficient at using the mouse. Initially he needed supervision and now he is able to navigate all screens and even choose between levels-easy or hard independently--occassionally with some stand by assistance. He especially loves the game where elmo draws clues on a black board in Elmo's bedroom and Elmo's blanket has to hide. Based on the shape Elmo draws, the child must try and locate where Elmo's blanket is hiding and behind which object in Elmo's room. My son and his dad also play this game in the living room with his real blanket and his dad will draw clues and our son will have to find where blanket is hiding--He loves it. I highly recommend this software and like I said, our little guy started playing this when he turned two and is now a pro. Great for developing visual and auditory memory, shape discrimination, matching, generating creativity, problem solving and mouse proficiency.

This outdated product is suitable for children under 3 who are learning cause and effect. By 3, today's children have outgrown this game. Take it off the shelves or give it to a younger age group. The best thing about the product was its fast delivery and secure handling.

We have 8 Sesame Street programs most of which are pretty good and a couple of which are excellent. However this is the one title which truly sucks.

My 5 year olds were bored within minutes of playing this incredibly poor game. Maybe a 3 year old would find it an easy introduction to computer GAMES ( it certainly isn't EDUCATION) but for older children even 4 and above it would be way too boring. It is purely entertainment (if you can even call it that) and has little if any educational value. For example your child can climb a mountain but no matter which way they choose they get to the top at the same rate anyway- big deal!- so there is no point to this exercise or to any of the other parts of this game either.

Save your money and hire the DVD/Video of Elmo in Grouchland instead for the entertainment in much better movie mode. For education you'd be better off buying instead one of the excellent Sesame Street educational tiles such as Elmo's Reading, or Sesame Street Music Maker which are 5 star value for both education and entertainment.
