5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Ways to Play - very educational
I bought this for my 20 month old who loves Sesame Street. It can be played with lots of ways. Obviously, it's a set of blocks in a wagon, but the characters that you see sticking out of the side are removable for pretend play. The blocks have pictures on 3 of the sides. One side is a puzzle that I'd say would entertain kids until the age of 6 or 7. Another side has...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a useful educational toy
This toy is more of a Sesame Street promotional product than an educational toy. We were looking for a good alphabet block set and the description said "Each block has pictures of objects that begin with the letter on that block". But instead of actual objects on all blocks, 10 of the 26 letters use a Sesame Street character instead of a real object. So "S" is "Snuggy"...

Another side has the letters of the alphabet and Sesame Street characters. The third picture is of a word that begins with the given letter on that block, and the word is written out by the picture so that it helps with reading as well.

The toy seems very sturdy, except for the pull-string. That seems like it could be cut by a pair of child's scissors. Also, the A block on my set had a dark streak across it, but to me that's not a big deal.

Overall, this is a toy that can entertain and educate a child for many years.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice block wagon, September 24, 2007

This is a fun set of blocks. A bit challenging for a 2 year old to make the picture, but still fun for a long time. Very sturdy and there is something on all sides of the blocks, so they are never boring!

This is one of the best toy values under $20. We're big fans of PBS programming and, of course our daughter loves the Sesame Street characters.

The wagon is a great way to store and transport the blocks (at least around the house - not bad for travel either though; deep tray keeps blocks in place), and our daughter loves to wheel it out to play. The big wooden ball on the string makes it easy for her to grapple with and the big plastic wheels roll easily. I'm not very fond of plastic parts, but the wheels do seem quite sturdy.

As for the contents, the blocks are great for stacking and even more fun to topple with a big wooden clatter. Despite rough play there are no dings or scratches on the blocks either.

The blocks can be put together as a puzzle (as pictured), or turned to see letters and characters on the other sides.

The bonus is the sihouette blocks of six different characters including Elmo, Zoe, Cookie Monster, Super Grover, Ernie and Big Bird. Our daughter loved to set them up and play with them both dolls and as stackers.

This product really fits a lot of fun into one small wagon.

This is a very heavy and durable toy. I was impressed. I haven't given it to my niece yet, but am excited as it will likely last many years and provide tons of entertainment for many children. But probably need to be careful with children who throw things!!!!

But instead of actual objects on all blocks, 10 of the 26 letters use a Sesame Street character instead of a real object. So "S" is "Snuggy" instead of "sun" or "seal", "G" is "Grover" instead of "grasshopper" or "garden". As the other reviewer said, only 3 out of the 6 sides have a picture on them. They could have put a useful object on one of the sides. Sorry, I am not going to teach my son that "E" is for "Elmo".
