5.0 out of 5 stars Best of Sesame Street's Alphabet Videos
As a parent, I can say that we own or have seen most of Sesame Street's videos that focus on teaching the alphabet, and this is by far the best one. Elmo, Telly, and Zoe are prominently featured, but the shining stars of this video are the classic alphabet cartoons that have mesmerized my 2 year old!

2.0 out of 5 stars Was a little disappointed...
My 15 month old daughter is a big fan of the Sesame Street (in particular, Elmo) movies, however she was very disinterested with this one. First of all, I was under the impression that this was going to be an Elmo/Zoe filled DVD (considering they are featured on the cover the way they are). However, they barely appeared in this. In addition, there was very little to no...

As a first grade teacher, I have found this to be a great video to send home with students that needs extra alphabet reinforcement (very popular with English Language Learners!).

So, if you are a pre-school parent who is looking to give your little one a head start on the alphabet, search no further. I can not recommend this video more highly to you.

I love Sesame Street - The Alphabet Jungle Game. I run a home daycare. My kids love this video. I love that they learn all their letters. This video takes all the letters one by one and shows a little clip on the letter. This video is a must have

2.0 out of 5 stars Was a little disappointed..., March 30, 2003
This review is from: Sesame Street - The Alphabet Jungle Game (DVD)
My 15 month old daughter is a big fan of the Sesame Street (in particular, Elmo) movies, however she was very disinterested with this one. First of all, I was under the impression that this was going to be an Elmo/Zoe filled DVD (considering they are featured on the cover the way they are). However, they barely appeared in this. In addition, there was very little to no fresh material here. It was all old clips from my own youth of watching Sesame Street. Also, very little of it was the Muppet/Sesame Street characters, as most of it was sketch/cartoon sequences.

In defense of this particular DVD, I will say that if it's the alphabet you are interested in, that's really what you're going to get with this. Letters are continuously repeated and used in examples. And in true Sesame Street fashion, there are a few catchy tunes that will have you memorizing in no time. You can't really lose with the lesson here...it's never too early to introduce learning (especially a staple like the alphabet).

For a little one who enjoys bright imagery, fast-paced movies, I would not recommend this movie. For a preschooler who is anxious about learning the alphabet and has a good attention span, this one might work for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars It IS a jungle..., September 22, 2006
This review is from: Sesame Street - The Alphabet Jungle Game (DVD)
Boy, this DVD is just a jumble of old episodes, which are fine. But, it's just not cohesive overall. Feels very disjointed when watching it.

The good thing is my 2 year old loves watching it. She only learned "m" and "u" from this overpriced DVD, but at least she likes watching it.

I must say, I was afraid she wouldn't like "Meet The Letters" after watching this DVD countless times, but she does (I highly recommend Meet The Letters, if you want your young ones to actually learn). Oh, she could call out all the letters after watching "Meet The Letters" for about 2 weeks. Is it because she watched the jumbled "Jungle" for about 3 weeks earlier? Maybe. But, she sure heck didn't call out the letters while watching it (other than "M" and "U" as mentioned).

This is a good DVD that entertains. I would've actually gave it at least 3 stars if it weren't for the price ($[...] B&N), considering that they only had to create those few new scenes with Elmo, Zoey and Telly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best alphabet video, February 14, 2000
By A Customer
This is my 2 year old's favorite video of all time, and has greatly helped her learn her letters. Great alphabet cartoons and songs that capture a kid's attention and reinforce the teaching material. The "plot" is simple and keeps the focus on learning the letters. THE BEST.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome in helping kids learn the alphabet!, October 27, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Sesame Street - The Alphabet Jungle Game (DVD)
I decided to finally write a review on this dvd because my first child who is now almost 4 has watched this since he was about 14 months old and he still loves it! Now my second child loves it just as much and already knows how to say all of her letters at 17 months old! I can't say enough good things about it. It has a great beat to it that my kids can't resist dancing too and watch out because when letter D comes up they absolutetly go nuts dancing! I just think it's been so helpful in teaching them their abc's and wanted to finally write a review. I would definitely recommend this dvd.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing, April 11, 2003
The cover and description lead you to believe that this is a Zoe and Elmo video, however they are barely in it and my daughter lost interest very quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it, June 27, 2006
This review is from: Sesame Street - The Alphabet Jungle Game (DVD)
My son loves this videos. He is 5yrs old and is already into Jimmy Neutron, Avatar, Spiderman and any other martial arts action packed character; he thinks Sesame street is for "little kids". Because this video is full of playful music and funny characters he loves it. I find most of the Sesame street videos alittle dull and boring, but this video is wonderful.

My 3 and half year old daughter and 18 month old son LOVE this DVD. Plus, being of the early Sesame Street generation, it is fun to hear some of the old classic cartoons...
