4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not a comlete Square!
Love the colors, foam is nice and thick. characters come out of the squares...which will be nice down the road so I can play a matching game with my daughter. Another person reviewed and stated that it smelled...I didn't get that smell at all and Im very sensitive to smells. My only complaint is that it doesn't make a complete square. they should have added 2 extra pieces...

3.0 out of 5 stars Paint comes off! No numbers to supplement for a regular shape
I bought two of these for my 5 month old son (I know, it says that it's for older kids) for him to crawl on. Since there are no Sesame street numbers, we had to get 2 of them to make a mat of a regular shape.
My son loved the colors and contrasts, but the paint started peeling pretty much right away, so we had to cover the whole mat with a blanket. Which sort of...

Another person reviewed and stated that it smelled...I didn't get that smell at all and Im very sensitive to smells. My only complaint is that it doesn't make a complete square. they should have added 2 extra pieces with just all the sesame street characters or something of that nature in order to complete the square. I didn't pay that much for this set. It seems like its sold out everywhere and thats why its sooo much! I wouldnt pay over 40 bucks for this. Have a nice day!

Not sure if anyone else has heard about this. Apparently EVA foam play mats have been outlawed in Belgium and France and the rest of the EU is soon to follow. Here is one of the articles I found on it.

[...]

My mother said she saw something on Good Morning America about this. I can't seem to find much info on this. Unfortunately, all playmats are made from EVA foam. We have the Toys r Us Imaginarium alphabet mat. I think this is the TRU/BRU brand.

Has anyone else heard about this? Not sure what we should do.

I bought this alphabet foam set 8 months ago, and I tried to air out the plastic smell and soak it in water in the yard too, but I still smell a strong plastic odor. The product is made in some dongong, china. And the green backing material has compressed foam with sparkling chemical compound mix. I bought foam mats from big five store and it doesn't even smell as bad as these foam mats. It says Eva plastics, but is it really safe for my baby to breath and play? I think otherwise.

Which sort of defies the purpose of having this colorful floor mat. With older kids danger of getting the peeled pain in the mouth is less, but still there since the paint peels off so easily!

Wish they made the puzzle more durable, and also added numbered pieces to the puzzle -- would've made it for a regular shape, and made more fun for kids to play!
