Sesame Street Bert & Ernie Building Set

We were asked by our very dear friends to bring something over to Germany for their granddaughter. She was enamoured by Bert and Ernie, favorites from her Sesamstrasse characters. When she received the gift, she was ecstatic, played with it for the next days every day from the time she came home from preschool until bedtime. The opportunity to be creative was very much valued by her Mom and Oma. Thank you Amazon.

Kid K'nex are a great early introduction to the older style K'nex products. They provide a bit more variety than the typical duplo style blocks (with different shaped pieces). Also there is a large line of Sesame street products including all the characters and a variety of different scenes featuring Elmo. We recently purchased this for our nephew who is 9 with Autism. He had been working with these specifically in his OT, I think to help with fine motor skills. He is able to follow the picture directions easily and enjoys building the characters. Great Toy overall!

When I handed the set to my kid, he was very excited seeing nice colored Bert & Ernie. My wife appreciate the educational value of this toy and this is one of the reasons we purchased. We have also looked for a durable toy, as our kid is nervous and smash when get bored.

I gave this toy to my 2 year old daughter and she LOVES it. She talks about Bert and Ernie all the time and want to build them and talks to them and do a lot of pretend play with them. They do fall apart very easily and you have to handle them gently for them to sit, but my daughter plays with them every day so that's what matters. Also, she doesn't like Legos, but likes this toy.

I had this item for months and was so excited to give it my son for his birthday because he loves the Sesame characters. What a disappointment, though, to open it and find that it does not stay together. In fact, Ernie's head would not stay on at all and it frightened my son so much that he didn't want to go near the toys. I completely understand that the item is meant to be taken apart and rebuilt, but once built it should stay together enough for a young child to play with it. I'm going to be taking this item back.
