This Emmy Award-winning musical from 1978 explores an age-old Christmas conundrum: how does a big guy like Santa Claus squeeze down all those narrow chimneys? When Big Bird and his Sesame Street friends set out to find the answer one Christmas Eve, they explore a variety of amusing theories and learn a lot about the meaning of Christmas in the process. You won't want to miss seeing all your favorite Sesame Street characters as they take to the ice at a nearby skating rink. Perhaps the most enjoyable feature of all is the wealth of wonderful music--everything from traditional Christmas songs to the now famous "Keep Christmas with You" by Joe Raposo. Several numbers are signed in American Sign Language and there's even a brief mention of Hanukkah. I watched this movie as a child every year with my siblings in the 80's. I recently found out it was now on DVD, and ordered it immediately!

I have to admit, there are times when I watch things as I enjoyed as a child, and I question how I liked whatever it was. This is not the case with Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. Who doesn't appreciate the fact that Bert and Ernie would sell their ducky and paperclips to buy gifts for eachother?

This is a movie that I will enjoy for many years to come. I cannot wait to have children of my own to share it with.

When I was young, this wonderful Christmas special was played every year on TV on Christmas Eve day. However, the past two years it was replaced with various specials featuring "hipper" animated characters, and I couldn't find it. I was shocked to even learn it was still being sold, and very excited!

If you or your children have ever watched Sesame Street, this video is a MUST OWN. Although it doesn't feature the newer characters, there is plenty of Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Oscar, Cookie Monster, and of course all the people in the cast that I was familiar with as a young child. This video makes me laugh to this day! It features a variety of charming and funny scenes, and keeps you involved from the very beginning when the whole Sesame Street gang goes ice skating.

This video, although great for kids, will make you laugh along with them as you watch it!

My kids have all graduated from school, yet every year we watch this over and over. It's really nice to finally have it on dvd, as I am sure my future grandchildren will love it just as much. it never gets old!
