Sesame Street items always appeal to youngsters. The kids are 2-5 & love this game. It's easy to learn and easy to play. Everything is durable, as well.

There are parts I like with the Sesame Street version, but it doesn't meet the main goal for buying it. I wanted to buy Chutes and Ladders to teach children about the consequences of our actions. In the gridded version of Chutes and Ladders I had growing up, there were children who skated on thin ice or didn't do their homework-- which lead to naturally unpleasant consequences. Other children helped cats from trees and did house work, which lead to pleasant consequences. On the Sesame Street version, what happens is very random. A balloon flies away or a friend joins into play-- nothing is directly related to a character's choices. This was hard to notice on-line. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bought it.

The format, which IS visible, and was the why I bought this particular version, is great. The curves in the pathway help guide the player along much more naturally than the usual grid format with arrows of the usual Chutes and Ladders game. The pieces are also sturdier than the cardboard kids of the old fashion version. However, I'd go with the old fashion game and just go through the teaching of following arrows. At least the consequences in the game would be learned.

simplicity of the board I like.

As other reviewers have said, this is a wonderful game for kids but the game construction and moving pieces are more poorly made than in years gone by.

Great game - much sturdier/better made than the original game. Worth the extra money in the long run. Four-year-old daughter loves it!

Classic board game and the 3yo LOVE it, borderline obsessed. Got it for Christmas and asks every day to play it. Started playing it by himself as well. The color scheme for the Sesame Street version is less busy and confusing than the new standard version.

4 year old daughter loves this game. The board and the player pieces are quite sturdy. Wish they had more player pieces so more players can join!
