5.0 out of 5 stars My Elmo lover loves it!
This is THE video to get for your little elmo fanatic! My 22 month old son can't seem to get enough of Sesame Street, especially Elmo. I bought this video to quench his never ending thirst for more Elmo and hit PAYDIRT!

2.0 out of 5 stars a new, hectic, and substandard recipe
sesame street was successful because it had a great formula - likeable characters, great songs, and positive values. there's an old saying - don't fix it if it isn't broken. unfortunately, in entertainment there is a great deal of pressure to be innovative in order to stay relevent. hence this relatively new offering from the sesame street gang.

This is THE video to get for your little elmo fanatic! My 22 month old son can't seem to get enough of Sesame Street, especially Elmo. I bought this video to quench his never ending thirst for more Elmo and hit PAYDIRT!
This is isn't necessarily an educational video but it is tons of fun! The songs are great and Elmo is prominent throughout. It was even fun enough that I happily watch it with him (I usually take advantage of 'video time' to get chores done).
If your going to let your children watch t.v., Sesame Street is the wat to go. Normally don't advocate t.v. watching for children, but there is something special about Sesame Street that I make an exception for. My son has learned to count to ten, alot of the alphabet, and other miscellaneous things through a combination of myself and Sesame Street. For example, He recognizes letters and numbers when they come up on a video. When used as a supplement by parents (not a substitute), I think Sesame Street can be a useful (& fun) learning tool!
I also recommend these Sesame Street Videos:
-25th Anniversary, A Musical Celebration
-35th Anniversary, What's The Name Of That Song?
-The Best of Elmo (a must have for elmo lovers)
-Alphabet Jungle
-The Great Number Game
-Learning About Letters
-Learning About Numbers
-Monster Hits

5.0 out of 5 stars Great video for Elmo lovers!, November 13, 1999

This review is from: Sesame Street - Elmo in Grouchland (Sing and Play Video) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My 2 year old daughter loves this video! There are lots of songs that she knows from Sesame Street as well as new ones that she has learned. It is quick moving and does not allow time for children to become bored with it. An excellent choice!

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Entertaining! Well worth it., November 10, 2000

This review is from: Sesame Street - Elmo in Grouchland (Sing and Play Video) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
We own this video, as well as the much-longer movie. The Sing and Play video is a great option for us--shorter than the movie, and non-stop songs! Our daughter smiles from the opening logo on. The tape's sort of a "return to Grouchland." Elmo is back in Grouchland to visit his grouch friend, Grizzy. They chat and introduce clips. Songs include the best of the movie's tunes (the blankie song, the one the plant sings, the welcome to Grouchland song), as well as some classics like "Rubber Duckie" and "I Love Trash." It also has the extensive "Elmo's Song" clip from the ep. of Sesame Street that introduced that now-famous tune. Words bounce across the screen of course. If your child loved the movie, this tape is a must-have! They'll enjoy revisiting the characters and sets with their favorite little monster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elmo in Grouchland (Sing & Play), April 12, 2000

My 18-month old son is a huge Elmo fan, and this is hisfavorite Elmo video so far. The video is almost non-stop music, andthe catchy tunes will have even the parents singing along ("Elmo's best friiieeend!") There is a bonus "Elmo's World" at the end of the video, featuring a version not seen on TV. It is all about balls, which happens to be my son's second favorite subject after Elmo! I definitely recommend buying this video. END

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my son's favorites, February 6, 2004

While my 2 1/2 year old will not watch the movie "Elmo in Grouchland", he adores this video compilations of songs from the movie and Sesame Street, and will dance and laugh with delight through it. Though I think we're all getting tired of yet another "Elmo's Song" setup, the rest of the songs are clever and fun. My boy especially likes it when I sing along with "C is for Cookie" and "Welcome to Grouchland" (maybe I just sing better than the Muppet characters). Probably one of the easier Sesame Street videos for adults to take, too. All in all a winner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, March 23, 2000

This review is from: Sesame Street - Elmo in Grouchland (Sing and Play Video) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I think this video is wonderful! This is the very first video I bought my daughter when she was about 6 month's old. I didn't play it for her for about 4 month's because I didn't like her to watch too much t.v. She is now 13 month's and this is the ONLY video she will sit down and watch! Which is great when you're a stay at home mom trying to get stuff done around the house! I would recommend this video to anyone who loves to sing and dance with their kids!

My 10 month old daughter absolutely loves this video. If you try to talk to her or get her attention while Elmo is on forget it, she looks around you to see the TV.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'C' is for Creative and That's Good Enough for Me., October 29, 2005

This is hands down my favorite video of my son's extensive collection! It is hillarious and very creative down to little details. For instance a scene takes place in Egypt and the puppets have special eye makeup to match, and during The Night Bug Boogie you'll spot a bug puppet with several eyes on his head! Ha ha ha. I also love the moment Elmo starts singing a sappy song and one of the grouches in the background says "That's it I'm outta here!", and the time that Grizzy recounts almost loosing her "Soggy Pants Sandy Doll"- you just have to laugh. I'm also a huge music fan and I have to hand it to Sesame Street for doing a take-off on Stomp and putting some umpf in the theme song and Take the First Step. I liked the music so much I had to buy the soundtrack for car rides. It is the only cd of my son's that I will crank and sing a long to. If other adults saw me I'm sure they would laugh, but I would look at them with the conviction of a suburban white guy jammin to the latest rap cd- then buzz on my way. You won't be disappointed with this movie. It just vibes with fun fun fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Daughters Favorite Dvd, May 5, 2004
By
Jess (APO, AE United States) - See all my reviews
Of all the Elmo dvd's I have bought my daughter this is her favorite. She would watch this one over and over if I let her. It has lots of great songs that she likes to sing along to. It also has a bonus episode of Elmo's World after the show. I do find that slightly anoying, but she likes it. It's great to have a show that subtly teaches things like manners without kids knowing they are being taught.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun video to sing along to with your kids!!!, October 22, 2003
By A Customer
My two daughters, ages 1 and 2, love anything Sesame Street. This video is one of their favorites. It doesn't have many of the familiar characters but it is still great! The songs are catchy. I love the fact that the words are on the screen. It makes it easier for us to sing along with the kids. The dvd has a bonus Elmo's World episode. Great choice if your kids like music.
