Product Description

Sesame Street: Elmo's Musical Monsterpiece is a new game for the Nintendo Wii and DS that kids will be able to rock out with their favorite Sesame Street characters, engaging in activities that promote musical creativity and dancing. The game also manages to throw in a few activities designed to foster development of math skills through connections between math and music. The in-game music comes from eclectic Los Angeles band Ozomatli, who use a wide range of styles in their music - ideal for kids who need a lot of variety. Ozomatli is also no stranger to lending their work to the video game world, with songs featured in many prominent sports games, so their work should feel natural on these new Nintendo Wii and DS games. The game is simple enough for toddlers to play without too much help, but there is plenty of room for parents to get involved and get in some playtime with their kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Kid Friendly Game! June 26, 2012
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I was lucky enough to try out both versions of this game for WII and Nintendo DS and I have to say that both were engaging, fun games that really encourage kids to get up and dance, but even better (in my humble opinion) was the music that the children could make while playing the game. My daughter loved playing the game and seeing what she could create music wise (as she already loved to sing). The games remind me some of the Sesame Street: Ready, Set, Grover! game that came out a while back, as it gets the kids playing to jump and move to accomplish tasks and to be able to take control of the characters. As I mentioned, my daughter just loved the games and I now know that this will be a great addition to our family game collection for the foreseeable future!

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT January 4, 2013

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My 2 1/2 year old LOVES this game. And she can do almost everything. I've helped her with a few things, but she usually gets it down once I show her the first time. The parental take-over mode is great so you can help them get through something (like narration) without taking their remote(which is always a war with my daughter) I would definitely recommend this to a friend. The only flaw I ran into was the case was pretty much shattered when it was delivered. But that's a shipment problem, not a product problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good game for 2 yr old toddler February 2, 2013

This game did just what I was looking for, provided something for my 2 yr old daughter to start learning on the Wii. The game is simple, entertaining and the game controller motions are simple. A good starting point until she can handle more complex games. And she loves Elmo, so she looks forward to the time she plays with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game for 3-5 November 7, 2013

My children really enjoy playing this game. We got it when my oldest was 3, and he plays it a lot even 2 years later. My middle child is now 3 as well, and she enjoys playing as well.

The controls are simple and consistent, which is great for children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gift for a 3-year-old December 26, 2013

My 3-year-old nephew likes watching the older kids play games on the Wii but never had one of his own. I bought him two for Christmas - with this one he was jumping up and down "catching" the musical notes. This is a nice game for the toddler age group!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game to introduce video games to toddlers March 8, 2015
By LMRD

My 3 1/2-year-old daughter was beginning to show an interest in video games. She got a LeapPad for Christmas and loves it. Then she started to ask about the Wii in our entertainment center that hadn't been used since my 8-year-old nephew slept over six months ago. We started letting her play, but the most age appropriate game was "Mario and Sonic Olympics". She would get so frustrated just trying to navigate through it and, honestly, so would I. So I started researching toddler Wii games and found this. The price was great since we were in the experimental phase, and it involves almost no navigation. However, that is also my one complaint. There is no way to get out of a game once it has started. You basically have to wait until that game ends and then it moves onto the next game. My daughter loves the game that Elmo jumps to catch notes, but doesn't entirely grasp the Honkers game in which you have to determine if they are honking a high or low note. But overall, it's a good game for toddlers. In other games, she tends to accidentally push a button and go back to the main menu and then get frustrated. This game avoids that whole problem altogether, and the instructions are easily explained and understandable for her level.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game for little kids! January 30, 2015
Verified Purchase
This game is very cute. I run a daycare and on slow days with only a couple of kids ages 1-3 it works on rainy days. Keeps them all intertained for awhile. Only one player at a time but the other kids love dancing and doing the activities as we'll. Even though only one person holds the remote. Makes it so my 1yr olds get to be involved and I don't have to worry about them dropping the controller. Very good game for the little ones to be involved in too!

Definitely not as good of graphics as the Nickelodeon fit, but its a decent game. My three year old likes it and its not too terribly hard for her.
