My daughter loves this book. So much so that it has replaced her "go to" books for all daytime activities (she has a separate shelf for nighttime reading). This book comes with 4 discs and about 20 or so songs (some much long than others). Although she cannot read the lyrics yet, she loves to look at the pictures and has already learned which pages go with the corresponding song. It also teaches proper eye-hand coordination as she has had to learn how to place the disc in the player properly to get it to work. It will eat through some batteries, but they are easy enough to change. One con: no volume control. Still, highly recommended. THIS IS NOT A BOARD BOOK.

My son received this as a gift (not purchased from Amazon). The Cookie Monster disc plays the same music as the Elmo disc. Even though they are marked differently, the back of the disc is the same, therefore the disc player reads them as the same. Needless to say we are both greatly disappointed. I contacted Reader's Digest and they told me the product was discontinued and basically there was nothing they could do for me. Obviously, it is still available but I refuse to purchase an entire new set for one defective disc. Thanks for nothing, Reader's Digest. I will purchase none of your products in the future.

I bought this item for my daughter and nephew for Christmas. They love both the book and the music player. I wish it was a board book though.

Guess I should have taken the phrase Music Player literally when deciding to order. I was disappointed when my 2 year old granddaughter put the first cd in, pushed play and we heard the music only, no lyrics.

The book is colorful and the lyrics are printed inside, but if you want to hear the actual songs, don't waste your money.

This book is not what I expected. My son (18 months) loves Sesame Street so he thinks the book is great. But the CDs don't have the words to the songs on them, just the music. So I have to sing all the songs to him (for much longer than I want to). He knows how to start/stop the music and change out the discs, but until he can read, I have to do all the singing. Not bad, just not as good as I wanted it to be.

There are a lot of songs in this, and they are good classic ones, but it would be better if the songs that played had words. It's just the music.

My 3 year old received a similar book (Winnie the Pooh) last year and she LOVED it. So much so that the pages are torn and the CD's lost. So, I bought the Elmo for my second daughter's first birthday. The 1 year old is already interested in it and the 3 year old still loves these books!

This was a great find! It kept my daughter entertained for hours at a time in the hotel room while we needed time to get ready. We were also on a long car trip and she entertained herself with this book. She loves switching out the 'CDs' on her own. We all knew the songs by heart after 2 weeks --- but they were cute. I am now looking for a similar type of music player book for Dora and Disney Princesses for her.

My daughter loves this, but it's actually very annoying. It just plays music, doesn't not sing songs. There is no volume control on this so it's quite loud.

My 2.5 year old daughter can not nap or go to bed without playing her round of songs. The toy is simple for little fingers except for the fact the disk does not sit tight into the player and overly aggressive trying will keep the disk from making connection for play. My little girl learned quickly how to place the disk onto the player, but there were a few learning tears. Regardless, LOVE this toy/book.
