Good for her to learn brushing teeth.

Cute looking book, and elmo is a favorite. But the moving parts get yanked and are easily torn off the book. Scotch tape wont fix it because of the way the parts move. Reading this book isn't much fun either as the writing is bland. Wouldn't recommend this one.

My 23 month old has loved this book for months. I bought it because he stopped letting us brush his teeth. As soon as we started reading it to him, he not only allowed us to brush his teeth, but seems to very much enjoy it now. I even recite some of the pages as we brush. The only problem is that it's a pop up book with a removable cardstock toothbrush. Some of the pop-ups have ripped and the toothbrush crumpled fairly quickly, but we made repairs with tape and a popsicle stick (for the toothbrush) and it should last us for quite some time.

Neither on the Amazon website, nor anywhere on the book, is it revealed that this book has polyrethane foam and toxic flame retardants. In small print on the back, it says that it "conforms to ASTM 96308". Curious, I did research to determine what it means to conform to ASTM 96308, which is when I discovered that this code indicates that it meets flammability requirements by adding toxic flame retardants to the highly flammable (and toxic) polyurethane foam. There is no specification that the book contains foam. I suspect that foam is included in the front and back covers of this book, instead of plain cardboard? I find it outrageous that my 1-year old has been exposed to chemical flame retardants in this book. Including foam and flame retardants in child books is entirely unnecessary.

The coded and secretive language ("ASTM 96308") is extremely unfortunate, and Amazon should make buyers aware on the website when child books include chemicals, and not just basic paper products. I cannot and will not expose my 1-year old to toxic flame retardants and polyurethane foam in books. I hope that this review and warning is helpful to other parents. I also hope that Reader's Digest, who publishes this book, removes these unnecessary and highly toxic chemicals from its children books. The majority of children's books are made of paper products, whereas Reader's Digest apparently decides to use chemicals and foam to create its books.

It is always great to have the interactive books with little ones. But the tooth brush one is already torn.

This is my second copy of the book. At 1 year my dd loved the book but tore many of the pieces off so it lost its appeal. Around 2 she went back to the book as she got into brushing her teeth more and read it every night even with parts missing so I just purchased a second copy. I recommend it for closer to age 2.

Our little boy loves this! (loves it so much i have had to invest in clear packing tape to make 'book band-aids' repeatedly) it definitely encourages him brushing. we read it every night and morning as we brush his teeth. I probably know the book by heart and i dont mind.

This book is so cute!! It has all of the Sesame Street characters in it and is very interactive ---- it makes brushing your teeth fun, which is what we needed for our 17 month old. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because for younger kids, some might be scared of the page with the opened mouthed monster. It is really cute, but it took my son off guard the first time we read it.

This was an unexpected plus as when I bought it, it was purchased under popup books and although there was no real pop up the tooth brush had the twin 11 month girls brushing and brushing. I now need to purchase a second one.
