Good for her to learn brushing teeth.
Jermaine
If the movable parts were made of slightly thicker and sturdier paper, perhaps it wouldn't show wear so quickly.

My 23 month old has loved this book for months.

Cute looking book, and elmo is a favorite. But the moving parts get yanked and are easily torn off the book. Scotch tape wont fix it because of the way the parts move. Reading this book isn't much fun either as the writing is bland. Wouldn't recommend this one.

Getting my 2 year old to brush her teeth was a hug struggle. I bought this book out of desperation. And boy, did it work!!! She loves it. Every pop up page talks about a different stage of brushing (i.e., how to and how much tooth paste to put on a brush, actual brushing of teeth, cleaning tongue, rinsing the mouth, and final page shows the dentist's office) with a different Sesame St character. The brush included is a bit flimsy, but remember this is a $5 book. You can't expect them to include a plastic brush or something. Also, the flimsy brush still still does it's job. My daughter loves to brush the pop-up character's teeth with that it. It's a great book!

This was an unexpected plus as when I bought it, it was purchased under popup books and although there was no real pop up the tooth brush had the twin 11 month girls brushing and brushing. I now need to purchase a second one.

This is my second copy of the book. At 1 year my dd loved the book but tore many of the pieces off so it lost its appeal. Around 2 she went back to the book as she got into brushing her teeth more and read it every night even with parts missing so I just purchased a second copy. I recommend it for closer to age 2.

This book is a big hit with our just two year old daughter who fights toothbrushing. Unfortunately, as another review has noted, the book is a little delicate for the moving parts and pop ups. She just got it less than two weeks ago and it's already a little ripped (pop open mouths to brush or count teeth) and the toothbrush is crumpled. I'll try the suggestion to support the toothbrush with a popsicle stick.
It has helped a little with toothbrushing. She definitely enjoys brushing the monster's teeth, looking inside the mouths and talking about the concept. I think it will help her understand how to brush her teeth, but while we are still doing the majority of the brushing, it remains a power struggle. I guess we'll see if it makes the battle of the toothbrush any easier over time.

My 23 month old has loved this book for months. I bought it because he stopped letting us brush his teeth. As soon as we started reading it to him, he not only allowed us to brush his teeth, but seems to very much enjoy it now. I even recite some of the pages as we brush. The only problem is that it's a pop up book with a removable cardstock toothbrush. Some of the pop-ups have ripped and the toothbrush crumpled fairly quickly, but we made repairs with tape and a popsicle stick (for the toothbrush) and it should last us for quite some time.

We got this book for our then 18mth old son who was not fond of having his teeth brushed. He loves the Sesame Street characters and this book helped him accept brushing his teeth better. I guess he figued if Cookie Monster and Elmo do, it can't be half bad. Cookie Monster did help teach him to spit his water and not drink it. My son is rough, so he ripped the pop ups, but we fixed them and he like "reading" his book often. He especially likes the little tooth brush you can brush the characters teeth with.

This is great for introducing the use of the toothbrush to a toddler. It has not solved the problem of sucking the toothpaste down the throat or chewing on the toothbrush. However, it has made the process a bit more enjoyable. I think my son thought I was trying to torture him. The book is very informative and the pop up scenes make it fun for little ones. Of course, you can't beat the lovable Elmo to make brushing your teeth a fun proposition.
