4.0 out of 5 stars
For a kiddie camera, it's not too bad, January 5, 2008
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

There are many of these kiddie digital cameras on the market and none of them are rated very well. The reality is that they don't even come close to adult digital cameras, so you can't use the adult cameras as a benchmark.
For what this is and what it does, it does a pretty decent job. Our nearly three year old daughter likes taking pictures of her toys, her friends and of us. (And on occasion, the floor, the cabinets and the ceiling!) The pictures come out fair, but again, this is not an adult camera. The point is that gets to have her own camera and gets to see her pictures right away. She's dropped it a bunch of times and it takes the abuse.
I'd definitely recommend it, but just bear in mind that it doesn't come close to an adult digital camera.

Built like a toy., August 8, 2008

The camera looks cool for a 3yr old. Until he/and I tried to take photo. The prolonged wait for the shutter makes it useless for anything active. My youngest could crwal out of the frame before the photo was taken. This camera also does NOT take a drop well as on its first drop I got an E50 error. At $49.99, you can get more for your money. The 4 "AA" batteries, are actually "AAA", important if you are buying rechargeables in advance. The SD disk worked well.

Received as a gift for Christmas for my son. After installing batteries and a 2 gig memory card we tried to use it. LCD display only showed a dark shadowy image that couldn't be made out. I figured that maybe the display wasn't working quite right so after taking many pictures I plugged it into the computer and downloaded the pictures. I had about 60 pictures of dark shadows with very faint lights. Not only did pictures not come out at all, but the operation of the camera seemed so difficult I couldn't figure out how to use the different functions or even scroll through pictures I had taken. There is a long delay from when you push the shutter button and when the camera takes a picture. Unfortunately my mother purchased this camera around September long before Christmas and can't be returned since Amazon doesn't take returns from that far back. I saw a much nicer camera from a well know toy maker for about the same price and I think that one would have been a better purchase. It's too bad this thoughtful gift is just going to be a toy that doesn't actually do anything. Stick to a real toy company that makes good quality stuff.
