This review is from: Sesame Subjects: My First Book About Fish (Sesame Street) (Hardcover)
I bought this book believing it was a spiral-bound board book, sturdy enough to withstand use by the toddler-age kids who love Sesame Street. Unfortunately, the spiral binding shown in the photograph is not a spiral binding at all, but a photo of spiral binding printed on the cover. The pages within are heavy cardstock, not the thick board book pages I expected. In a toddler's hands, I'd estimate this book will be shredded within a week.As for content, the fish photography is beautiful - what I can see of it. Each page is dominated by Grover and Elmo. Don't get me wrong. I love Grover and I adore Elmo. But I would have liked to see the photographs printed in a larger format and the cartoon characters take up a smaller percentage of each page. The title is "My First Book About FISH." I wish the book would have lived up to its name. |
