I truly enjoyed reading this book. The integration of the Bible and the historical references were on point. I usually prefer a more modern novel, like in The Faithful One (Michele Chynoweth), or the historical Christian romance Acsah (Janice Rice). This was, however, a pleasant deviation from my normal readings and I may be a fan... must read more to find out!

The way Colleen integrates God's word into her books is phenomenal! Her characters teach a subtle lesson of God's purpose for life situations so true to life. I can't wait until the next book in the Rock Harbor series.

A surprising good book! I thought it would be a little filler, but really enjoyed the character's! A look back in time!

A quick read, but not as intriguing as other books by colleen coble. I found it to be a little shallow, and it felt rushed.

Not expecting such a sudden ending
Great story though. Maybe there will be a sequel to this plot line later

If you're looking for a fast paced read, this novella should appeal to you. Colleen Coble just has a special way of conveying God's love in her books.

The time is 1875 and Miranda Leyton prepares to leave London, closing this chapter on her life. She will join her brother, Nathan, in Australia. Along with her, she carries important secret documents, sent by her brother, that she is to keep safe from any unscrupulous people.

On the four month voyage, Miranda encounters many problems along with Doctor Phillip Jackson, whom she finds hard to like with his boorish mannerisms. The Doctor's fiancee has just left him standing at the altar and he's vowed to never let another woman close.

Lord Geoffrey Brewster is gentlemanly and seems very interested in Miranda and her family. But, how does he feel about spiritual matters, and is he a God-fearing man? These qualities mean more to Miranda than good looks and wealth. And the story unfolds with many complexities that are resolved into a predictable ending.

A relaxed, enjoyable read with a fast tempo. I rated it 3.5 stars.

I thought the book was much too simplistic and clumsy. I was sorely disappointed and would not recommend anyone to waste their time.
