Dear Diary......., November 25, 2007
This review is from: The Set Up (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
Expressed in the interesting format of a personal journey, Mallori McNeal has written a page-turning novel. Before reading the story in 1st person, the author gives the reader a backdrop with a written prologue to give an introduction to the story.
Mina, using her street instincts, willingly takes the road to insanity to avoid the general prison population designated for drug offenders.
While incarcerated in the prison mental institution, Mina has strange dreams which are actually an insight to her future, although the exact events are not exactly as she dreamed about.
Eventually after 3 years of imprisonment, Mina is released back into society as a free woman under the watchful eye of her probation officer.
Accepting life's circumstances and her current conditions, she slips into the role of a "goodie two shoes".
While playing the role to satisfy her 5-year probation requirement, she meets up again with the love of her life - "Kayne" - and now begins "the set up".
The drama builds, conflicts and complications arise and Amina is the catalyst of it all.
It's not my wish to ruin the story for you, but if you want a book worth your time, this is a one to get.

She's Back.........., January 1, 2008
This review is from: The Set Up (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
In this sequel to Down Chick Amina is back and she is back to claim her man. She will do anything just to have him in her arms. Even if that means getting in close to the chick Kayne is suppose to marry and about to be the mother of his seed. With so much dirt that she has on Kayne main squeeze she puts her plan in action to show Kayne what he has at home is all a lie and that in her arms is where he needs to be. With Amina having two identiy and all hell about to break lose once Kayne's fiancee finds out who her best friend really is we are sent into a all out book full of drama
I have to say that Mallory did a job well done once again. Even though on the first novel you could tell that she was a new author. But I feel that she has really got her writing game down now.
