The Setar, great grandfather of the Sitar, played by one of the greats of the modern times. If you like the "Master's of Persian Music" listen to this, this is the man who taught them.

It is very rare to come across not only, even not mainly, such a beautiful CD, but such that is both deeply innovative and utterly traditional. I believe I can only compare its depth to that of the great Munir Bashir and to that of Piris Eliyahu. Ebadi's playing is precise, both razor sharp and emotive, with a lot of silences that accentuate the musicality of his playing. I don't know what else I can say to make you seize this rare opportunity of listening to Ebadi.
