5.0 out of 5 stars Have you read this book?, May 5, 2002
Janes writing gave me a quantifying look into the Seth material. How Jane has put this book together is fascinating, and extremely well managed. How Jane herself at times struggled with the Seth material and how she furthered her own inner exploration can be an intellictual roller coaster. I can hear now the psychologists..."she is crazy!"
I refute: Robert Pirsig pp.151-2 ZMM "But what's happening is that each year our old flat earth of conventional reason becomes less and less adequate to handle the experiences we have and this is creating widespread feelings of topsy-turviness. As a result we're getting more and more people in irrational areas of thought...occultism, mysticism, drug changes and the like...because they feel the inadequacy of classical reason to handle what they know are real experiences."

The title of this book explaines much of the content. Jane explores her early visitations with Seth and her discoveries along the way. While in 1966-77 Seth Dreams... was rejected by three separate publishers. In addition, Rob's introduction written in 1985, after Janes' death, is a most welcome sight.

Excerpt: "Jane began dictating Seth Speaks in January 1970. In March, Tam sighned her to a contract fro Seth, Dreams...on behalf of Pretice-Hall. The Seth Material was published. Jane was on a creative roll. She kept changing and adding to the portions of Seth, Dreams...that she hadn't used in The Seth Material, while at the same time her new work kept crowding it out. Finally, in 1971 Tam converted her contract for Seth, Dreams... into one for Seth Speaks."

This book is seperated into three parts. The beginning of the book Jane begins with the starting of the Seth material then flowing to part two exploring the inner world of consciousness further, inner senses, Seth answers, etc. Part 3 has more technique driven contents. Throughout this book is Jane's beautiful poetry, The Trees in the Forest pg.117

Chapter 14 Dreams and Health, in my view is expecially helpful. Included is "How to Use Dreams to Promote Health." As with the Seth material the discussion of health always enters the picture, and very rightly so.
Chapter 22 The Inside of Consciousness, I prefer as being especially good. Seth goes into some detail about different realities, and how camoflogue is in effect. Seth brillilantly details symbols in the dream landscape as well as our interpretation and perception of them. Outstanding information. Lucid dreamers may find this chapter of particular liking.

These particular chapters were of help to me but the entire book builds on itself and progresses through certain explorations very nicely. Furthermore, Jane's chapter infolding of certain Seth sessions brings her work to an elevation of understanding. Only after reading do I now see her progression throughout the book.

Before reading, I did not know what to expect from Jane's interpretation of her experiences as well as Seth's material. However, I am simply fascinated with this book, it floored me! Having Jane's chronicle of her experiences with the Seth material, and without, gave me tremendous new insights.
This was the first exclusively Jane Roberts book I have read, and how pleased I am now! It amazes me to the extent Jane and Rob's work extended. Jane went exceedengly far in her studies of consciousness, a life of work. As has been said, Jane and Rob had no children. The Seth material was their children. Throughout this book Jane numerously showes her own experiences with dreams, OBE's and the learning of the Seth material. There is so much material in this book -as any of the Seth sessions- that multiple reads and proper note taking may be essential, for me this was the case.

Having read: Lucid Dreaming, also Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge, Jean Campbell, Strephon Kaplan, Jung, etc... Seth and Jane showed me the way. I left out much of the material in this book because there is so much contained within. Some of what Jane has written and Seth has stated seems utterly unbelievable, but what if it is true? I know how Jane would answer.

This is by far the best book on dreams and the OOBE I've ever read. It answers the questions that all the others leave hanging. The information rings true with personal experience, and you'll wake up in the night and think, " Of course, that's how it works! Never thought of that...." Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable for all who seriously explore life to the fullest, May 3, 1999
By A Customer
This is one of the best books to learn about reality manipualtion and how to go about exploring the multifaceted ways of personal existence and identity. Jane, Seth and Robert have given all of us invaluable richness and the tools to explore our own realities closely.

Compelling reading and working because it is interesting enough to capture the mind and fascinating enough to make imagination work in a guided way.
