Screaming For Vengeance - Special 30th Anniversary sizzle reel

Biography

There are few heavy metal bands that have managed to scale the heights that Judas Priest have during their nearly 40 year career. Their presence and influence remains at an all-time high as evidenced by 2008's 'Nostradamus' being the highest-charting album of their career, a 2010 Grammy Award win for 'Best Metal Performance', being a VH1 Rock Honors recipient, and playing ... 5.0 out of 5 stars Venue info might be incorrect. July 14, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
First of all, I absolutely love Judas Priest and have for the past 30 years of my life. I will buy anything they put out :-)

The only gripe I have about this 'setlist' is that the venue information for a couple of the songs is probably incorrect:
"Heading Out To The Highway"
"Breaking The Law"
"Out In The Cold"
"Freewheel Burning"

All of these tracks show a venue date of Memphis, TN 1986, which I highly doubt. I think they're tracks off of the "Priest...Live" album (1987). Somebody might have confused the Memphis, TN (1983) show with the Dallas, TX 1987 (Priest...Live) show. All of these tracks are perfect soundboard recordings by the way.

If anybody can clarify, I'd appreciate it. I own a bunch of Priest 'boots' and have never come across a 1986 soundboard recording from Memphis, TN. If such a beast does indeed exist, share the joy LOL.

Otherwise, most of the other songs can be found on various bootlegs. The fact that Pries (or Sony?) decided to put out a disk such as this one hopefully means that some of the better soundboard bootlegs that are floating around might see the light of day as official releases someday. I am sure that the main members of Judas Priest probalby have vaults full of unreleased material...stuff fans like me would kill to listen to, be it good or not.

2.0 out of 5 stars This is just "Best Of': from the live albums October 22, 2010
By steve
Format:Audio CD
If you already have the other live Judas Priest albums, you have no reason to get this. This is just a compilation of tracks taken from Unleashed In The East, Live Vengeance '82, Priest...Live, and A Touch Of Evil Live. If you have none of those cds and you're a Priest fan, then yes, by all means, get this cd. You'll probably like it. But since most Priest fans already have all the live albums, this cd is totally unnecessary.

3.0 out of 5 stars Best of live releases November 10, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This is some, key word is some, of the Priest's hits recorded live with all but one (You've got another thing comin') coming from a previous audio (cd, cassette, album) release. This is a release for maybe the die hard Priest fan that wants to collect every known title by the guys or for the person wanting to get a sample of what Priest has to offer via a live recording. As I mentioned, You've got another thing comin' is not from a previous cd release. It is actually from Live Vengeance which only has come out from via VHS and DVD.
Honestly, this is probably something that Sony Music wanted to put together just to make a buck off the Priest name. I would love to hear more live from Priest, but live material that has never been produced on cd before. That is what I believe we the fans of Priest really would like to have in our hot little hands for our ears to enjoy.
