It is Carnivale!,

This review is from: Settecento Veneziano (Audio CD)
I highly recommend this cd to those who are curious about knowing what venice was like in the 17 th century. The various composers reprenresented here, were active in Venice with sole th exception of Platti who is also represented. This is a breath of fresh air which I am sure all will enjoy. The opening lines of the accompanying notes encapsulates well the true lure of music (and to me baroque music): "Listening to music is like a journey, a journey of the mind and of fantasy in time and space, or a journey within oneself.' This is excellently directed by ottavio dantone from the harpsichord with the ensemble, Academia Bizantia. The early music feel of this performance takes one to the era very easily.Highly recommended!
