This is a new area for me. I want to start a new business that did not require a lot of extensive training but would allow me to use the experience and knowledge I already have. Medical Billing is it. You can be as successful as you want to be. I thought this book provided the basic understanding of the business and steps to get you going. It was written for everyone to understand and also provided the motivation to get started. Of course you need additional materials to get started but again this book tells you what the next steps are and the materials needed to get going. I appreciated the "one stop shop" for everything that is available from the Association, but you don't have to join the Association to get the materials. Starting your own business will entail some start-up captial. The cost of the book is a only a drop in the bucket compared to the rewards of starting your own Medical Billing service.

Let's just put it this way: when it comes to electronic medical billing, Merlin Coslick is truly the all-being master of time, space, and dimension! He has helped us build our home-based business every step of the way, answered our every question, provided a wealth of information that we couldn't find ANYWHERE else, and has coached and guided us with his uniquely reassuring sense of humor and his encyclopedic knowledge of everything we should be prepared to expect and exactly how to handle it. Merlin is like a beacon of light in what I can assure you is otherwise a cavern of utterly confusing and intimidating darkness. I shudder to think at how things might have continued to go had we not become members of the Electronic Medical Billing Network of America, and read all of Merlin's publications - and they're not even expensive! He consistently saves us time and money and most importantly, eliminates the stress and uncertainty that comes with entering this business. Great book for the beginning medical biller. It gave me added confidence to get started. Well written.

Merlin sums it all up in an easy to understand format. His books are exactly what you need in the medical billing business. I found them all very helpful. He does a superb job at giving you all the pertinent information you need to get off the ground.

Merlin Coslick's book on Setting Up Your Medical Billing Business is written in a clear, no nonsense, virtual step by step approach to the do's and don'ts of starting your own Electronic Medical Billing business. Everything you need to know to get started is included and delivered to the reader with both humor and an easy to follow format. I've read it three times, refer to it often, always gaining new insite or a jump-start on what I've already learned. It has proven to be a very important business tool to us. I recommend this treasure to all entrepeneurs looking to start a business. Thanks Merl for all the time you have saved me.

I've read two other books on the subject. They provide information-not knowledge. After reading this you should feel confident that you can do it. If you don't, it is because the real life trials and tribulations, that are accuratly described, are not for you. Better to know this now than several thousand dollars later. Read this book before you start your business and you will have a much greater chance at success. I wish I had!

Some of the information this presents is helpful, but it also raises some questions and doesn't clearly answer them. It is very vague on things like pricing your services, writing a service contract, etc. which are very important issues! Overall it was helpful as it showed me that I had a lot to consider before jumping into my business. I have been more cautious, and will hopefully be more successful, because of it. Good initial material for someone with little or no knowledge of the subject.

Merlin Coslick has provided ALL of the information needed to begin a home-based medical billing business AND proven, real-world techniques for applying the information! Also outlined are potential problems and how to avoid them - I read the book while I completed coursework in this field and I could not have set up my business without it. It is absolutely a MUST HAVE for anyone entering the field of medical billing!

I read this book and belive that Mr.Coslic did not leave anything stuck in his sleve. He gives you facts, motivation and the details that makes you feel the sense of up coming opportunity.

After completing another home course on Medical Billing and scoring well but feeling desperately alone, I came across Mr. Coslick's book Setting Up Your Medical Billing Business. I found the book to be very practical and so very helpful. After having read his book twice in the same month,I was challenged and ready to go. His book is filled with good old common sense and hard work along with a great sense of humor, a rare find on such a technical subject. I highly recommend it to anyone considering this business and I look forward to reading other books he has written on this subject.
