Expect the game to last a bit longer, obviously, and also a couple of rule changes. Because players collect resources at a greater rate between turns, the expansion pack rules allow a player to buy betweens turns, instead of just during a turn.

This makes things a bit more confusing, but once the adjustment is made, the game runs fine.

If you like the game, and want to add a person or two, the expansion is a must.

My wife and I love being able to play one of our favorite games with more friends. The island fills up a lot faster making it a little more difficult and more challenging for your strategy. Just make sure you mark the pieces that belong to this set so that they don't get mixed up with the orginal 4 players set.

This is a pretty basic expansion pack; pretty much exactly what you'd expect. It simply makes Settlers of Catan playable by 5-6 players (the original box is for 3-4 players). More players can make the game more fun (more people to trade with and whatnot), but it does make the game longer, which is not a problem for most people.

If you game with other couples. No doubt you need an expansion for settlers. This is it. The downside is that it slows the game down terribly. More players equals more decisions and more downtime between turns. But if you got six. You got six. So get the expansion. But if you want to play a better 6 player game, play transamerica, or carcassone with expansions.

This pack makes this game more fun and allows more people. The rules change a little when using it, but they are easy to understand and lots of fun. I highly recommend getting this pack if you have ever wanted to play with more people.

This is a great game! And it is even better with the expansion. You can play with more people and you have more room to build. We have gotten all our friends hooked on it!

If you own the Settlers of Catan game, you should also have the expansion set. We use the expansion, even if we are playing with four players or less. I can't imagine playing without it. This is one of our most favorite strategy games.

This game is an excellent choice, for children and adults. It teaches good concepts, and changes every time. My group of college grad friends has had as much fun as the late elementary aged siblings of my friend. Great game.

It is one of our favorite games. In fact we have the first one and it wasn't a large enough game for our family. That is why we bought the expansion game. It came in a very fast time. I really appreciate the great service. Thanks again!

My family refused to play this game after I bought it. For "Father's Day" I asked them to play. It has now become a regular Sunday family game. When we go to visit our daughter and her family she "demands" that we bring "Settlers of Catan." We love Settlers of Catan. It is a great game to bring family and friends together. It's not as long as monopoly and tons more fun.
