Dr. Seuss Cat In The Hat Spin Shade Night Light

We purchased this night light for our child's room that we were decorating in a Dr. Seuss theme. It fits in with the room perfectly and is absolutely adorable! The light works/functions well and I like the frosted light bulb so that the light is not super bright. The lamp shade spins nicely once the light is turned on and everything was in excellent condition when received. However, we did not realize how extremely delicate this item would be, especially in a child's room. The shade sits on top of a very small pin that is attached to a spiraled wire, which wraps around the light bulb to hold the shade in place. The spiral wire shifts very easily on the light bulb if touched thus the shade tips or falls off. The point (needle) that the shade sits on top of so that it can spin freely is definitely not a good thing to have in a child's room either. We love this product, it functions well and is adorable but really isn't a great item for a baby or toddler room as it is delicate and has potentially harmful parts.

We purchased this night light for our toddler's room that we decorated with a dr. seuss theme. The lamp shade is paper and falls off very easily. It balances on this tiny point that is sharp and dangerous for a toddler, plus I can't help but feel like it is a major fire hazard because the light bulb gets so hot and when the paper lamp shade falls off of the point, it comes in direct contact of the bulb. It was an inexpensive purchase, so it's not worth returning, but we definitely will not use it.

I bought this as it was listed as an accessory for the Dr. Seuss nursery. It is a HORRIBLE IDEA for a kids room or nursery. The lamp shade is flimsy and sits on top of a metal piece that is nearly as sharp as a thumb tack. It's been sitting unused in the closet. I hate that I spent so much on it but cannot take the risk of someone getting stuck.

I, like previous posters, ordered this as an accessory for our nursery that we are decorating in the Cat in the Hat theme, because that is how it was presented on Amazon. However, it is completely unsuitable for a nursery as it does have a metal piece that is extremely sharp. Also, the shade is made of paper, hardly something that will last in a kid's room for any length of time. For $24 with shipping, this is not a good buy for a nursery.
