4.0 out of 5 stars a family treasure, January 9, 2006
This review is from: Seven Alone (DVD)
Although dated (the version we have is the cheap $1 disc and is a horrible video transfer job), and filled with flaws, this film is a family treasure. The acting is not great but the overall story and photography are beautiful. It's about a poor farming family of nine that set out from Missouri, in 1843, to go to Oregon Territory and start a new life.
The perils they have along the way are well portrayed. This is based on a true story. What those children accomplished is nothing short of amazing.
**** 4 Stars...Highly recommended family viewing!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Family Film, February 22, 2005
This review is from: Seven Alone (DVD)
I remember this movie from when I was little and it was one of my favorites. If you were a big fan of Little House, then maybe you might enjoy this film. It's great for the whole family. I like the fact that it taught a bit about the history of our country, yet entertained as well. The children were adorable and did a pretty good job acting in what was most likely their first film.
