George VanEps probably has the deepest understanding ever of how to play chords and intervals on guitar. He has worked out an encyclopedia of fingerings to avoid almost all of squeeks and scrapes associated with the more usual ways of playing difficult passages. His relaxed perfection makes casual listeners not realize how IMPOSSIBLE much of playing is. Alden sounds just a h-h-hair out of tune compared to GVE.
