This was my first real step into the erotica world. I was blown away. The character in Seven Day Loan kept me hooked from the very beginning. The back stories behind both characters kept me craving more. I wanted to know everything about Eleanor and where Daniel goes from here. The sex scenes were hot as hell but it was the emotional connection between characters that kept me reading. I fell madly in love with Eleanor and connected instantly with Daniel. The only thing that kept my heart from breaking, when they story ended, was knowing that the author is currently writing a Daniel spin-off. If you were ever interested in erotica but didn't know where to take that first step, there's no better book than this one.

Due to computer issues, this is the first Spice Brief I've read in full, via Kindle for iPhone. It's an interesting premise, because we don't hear all that much about Eleanor's relationship with her master; instead, this novella is about Eleanor's relationship with her temporary master, Daniel, as he very slowly comes out of the shell he's surrounded himself with since his wife died over three years ago.

Eleanor wants to be obedient but she also has a bit of the brat in her, and when they do take their passion out of the realm of discussion and into bed (and elsewhere), they find an electric connection. Reisz makes this a sizzling novella with a bittersweet feel, since they both know Eleanor is their on the titular seven-day loan, but in seven days, they connect in an extremely kinky way. I liked that while Eleanor was submissive to Daniel, she wasn't a doormat and stood up to him when it counted, yet gave herself fully, even if, at first, she does so reluctantly, at the command of her master. And insightful and red hot look at the mind of a submissive, and a dominant rediscovering what makes him tick.

What a fantastic story! I love how this author fits delicious sex and a compelling plot into a novella. This is the perfect thing to keep on my iPhone and read while waiting on airplanes or all the other places I need to wait. The characters were complex (another amazing feat considering the length of the story) and the story was really compelling. And, well...the sex. All I can say is yum yum.
