One of my all time favorites,
By A Customer
This review is from: Seven Minutes in Heaven [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I loved this movie when I was younger, 12, 13, whatever. It used to come on HBO or Showtime almost every afternoon, and I would watch it everytime. It was something about the story that was quite appealing to me, plus I think back then I thought the Main male character was cute. I would definitely add this movie to the list of best 80's teen movies.

Best 'Teen Drama' Ever?,
By Stephen B. O'Blenis (Nova Scotia, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Seven Minutes in Heaven [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Proving that dramatic fare centering on teenage characters needn't be any less powerful than any other drama, the biggest strregth of "Seven Minutes In Heaven" (apart from the mere prescence of star Jennifer Connelly) is the realization that the loves, ambitions, anxieties, dreams, feelings and disappointments of teenagers are no less real and no less important than those of a person a few years older or a few years younger. That's one of those things that so many people who previously would have agreed with fervently seem to forget on their twentieth birthday. This movie is about all of those things - dreams, loves, anxieties, etc. - in the lives of three friends, Natalie (Connelly), Jeff (Byron Thames) and Polly (Maddie Corman). I usually don't enjoy 'slice-of-life' dramas half as much as this one but "Seven Minutes In Heaven" is so good it would have been a keeper even without Jennifer Connelly in it, who's the reason I originally saw it. Funny in places and downright heartbreaking in places, with massive charm, this movie is a credit to its kind.
And yet it's not out on DVD - I guess I'll just have to add it to my list of dream DVD releases ("Dreamtrap", "Elves", "Basket Case 2", "Scamper The Penguin", "Twogether", "Mannequin II", "Cutting Class" etc. - I could go on and on) that surely someday somebody will Have to bring out on DVD. Won't they? At least until then, the VHS of this gem can still be tracked down. Highly, highly recommended.

Stacey's Review,

Hi- I am a 15 year old that was home sick one day when I saw this movie on HBO. Honestly, I was moved. I thought this movie moved people's minds from most sterotypes about kids my age, and I thought it was much better than any teen movies they are making today. I am very dissapointed to find that they are not selling this video anymore. I hope the re-distribute it soon, because they have one definite customer already!

John Hughes eat your heart out! A heart-warming gem!,

Finally a high-school coming-of-age movie with real-life teenagers! This heart-warming funny and clever tale follows three 15-16 year-olds in their rocky road through sophomore year. A young Jennifer Connolley shows her stuff, and Maddie Corman gives a show-stealing performance! A must-see for any teen-angst "Dawson's Creek" fans!

Great movie - junk disk,

This review is from: Seven Minutes In Heaven (DVD)
This is a great movie which I will buy when it comes out on a real DVD. Apparently this method of releasing older hard-to-find movies is becoming popular among studios trying to make a quick buck without investing any money - producing an inferior product at a premium price. DVD-Rs do not play on all DVD players and can cause playback problems. Many DVD-R disks also do not age well - some lose thier ability to play back after a year or two. Another great movie only available on DVD-R is Angus - a great coming-of-age movie with George Scott - come on guys - release it for real!!

Just like the title says folks, watching this movie will take you through "Seven Minutes in Heaven". It's a great coming of age movie featuring a very young Jennifer Connelly, star of "Requiem for a Dream" and "A Beautiful Mind". You meet her friend Polly, who is a bit boy crazy. All the characters in this film are so endearing that you want to laugh and cry with them as they discover themselves.

"Seven Minutes in Heaven" is a surprisely entertaining and refreshing movie that breaks away from the disgusting predictability of most other teen movies. Even though it's a little "old" (made in 1985), it remains an excellent movie by today's standards. It's too bad that this movie is out of distribution; I hope the company re-releases this film.

Nostalgia Unchained!,
This review is from: Seven Minutes in Heaven [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This was one of the sweetest movies I remember from my childhood. I could totally relate to the characters and their situation. I had some crazy air-headed friends and some uptight serious friends (still do). The politics of the '80's may have sucked but the "teen" movies were golden!
I am purchasing this movie, primarily, for the song "Dear You" by Josie Aiello. I haven't been able to find that song or this movie soundtrack anywhere. When I heard it, I remembered thinking, "I've felt that way!" (*_*)

LOVED THIS MOVIE!,

I remember watching this movie with my girlfriends and thinking the baseball player "Zoo Knudson" was such a hottie (the actor is Billy Wirth, he also plays one of the vampires in The Lost Boys, another great 80's collectable). It's a cute and silly chick flick and a must have for any 80's fan. There is a comment made about chocolate that every girl must see, LOL!
Will this movie ever be released on DVD? I'll be waiting...

I was a teenager when this movie came out in the 80's. I was pretty obsessed with it because I felt I could identify with Jennifer Connelly's character Natalie. Having a crush on a guy and ultimately getting crushed. Yep! That was so me( where are you Jeff S.??- *lol*) Oh Youth! A reviewer mentioned the song in the movie, Dear You. I wish I could find it somewhere. I loved that song. This was a cute movie that everyone should see at least once.
