4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, flawed, moving, surprising, and ultimately worth the read
I decided to read this book on a whim. I'd heard about the seven mountain prophecy enough to know the gist of it, but I figured I would give it a read and see for myself what the controversy was about. I went into it with an open mind and I found a lot to commend, a few major complaints, and ultimately was very glad I read it for a number of reasons.

1.0 out of 5 stars Reader beware.
At the urging of a friend I read this book. Before I say anything, I will remind the reader that God explicitly tells us to meditate on the Bible day and night and to do it every day. Reading "The Seven Mountain Prophecy" will let you know why it's so important to really, REALLY know what God says as opposed to what man says, and how to know when man is off the mark...

4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, flawed, moving, surprising, and ultimately worth the read, February 9, 2009
This review is from: The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution (Paperback)

First, this is not a well written book. It could have used a copy editor, as there are semi-frequent grammar mistakes, typographical errors, etc. The writing style is friendly and direct, and so those sort of mistakes are less glaring, but it always annoys me when important books are left open to ridicule by silly mistakes that could have been so easily avoided. Many Christian books open themselves to unnecessary attack simply because of sloppiness.

Second, this is an important book. The premise is that God is looking to for His church (small c) and His people to step into their destiny and take back the echelons of power in the world, namely the 'seven mountains.' Regions of authority such as Governmnent, Education, The Arts, Media, etc... This is a profoundly powerful message, especially to churches which have adopted an inward looking fear mentality: "the world will soon end, therefore we must prepare ourselves for the worst of it." This type of thinking is severely limiting our ability to be 'salt and light' in a world that so desperately needs us. It's high time we started answering God's call and THE SEVEN MOUNTAIN PROPHECY does an effective job of arguing for that mandate.

Thirdly, there is some fairly reckless use of Scripture in the book. Many Old Testament passages are taken out of context and used to present arguments that are not bad in and of themselves, but which the chosen verses do not support, except contextually. Most of these occur in the first thirty pages of the book when Enlow is laying out the context for the arguments to follow. The meat of the book and the ways in which he describes the assault on the 'seven mountains,' are usually quite well argued and Biblical enough.

Ultimately the power of this book is not in its Biblical scholarship but in its ability to motivate the church. Sadly, all too many Christians fail to realize the call on their lives and live weak, ineffective lives because of it. Enlow's book is a clarion call to those mired in a sense of individual malaise. Whether a sound prophecy or just a call to live in the destiny that God has for your life, the book is well worth reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Prophetic Vision to Fulfill Christ's Mandate to Be the Salt of the Earth, November 28, 2008
This review is from: The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution (Paperback)
"The Seven Mountain Prophecy" is written to give the reader a better vision and understanding of the escatology. Enlow provides both prophecy and a strategy for accomplishing Christ's Kingdom purpose here on earth.

In the words of the Apostle Paul, Enlow calls on the reader to "burn with zeal" in a pursuit of prophecy. Enlow prophesies a coming spiritual tsunami that will eradicate status quo and will overhaul and transform spiritual thinking and behavior. It will bring God's rule and reign to places formerly subject to evil powers.

Enlow describes the power and dynamic of the coming Elijah Revolution. The seven mountain prophecy includes the promise of God's provision for abundance to fulfill His calling and His favor to displace evil principalities.

The book is well organized with topic headings within the chapter which help the reader assimilate the new material. It is also helpful as a quick ready reference in the study and review process. Scripture references are completely written out within the text. This helps maintain continuity and helps correlate the scripture with the interpretation or concept. The material is important and relevant for Christian leaders in every denomination and culture.

Some Evangelicals will take exception to Enlow's writing; however, in light of all that is currently transpiring globally, the book is important, timely and informative. "The Seven Mountain Prophecy" is endorsed by well known and highly respected international Christian leaders.

5.0 out of 5 stars Convergence of Kingdom and religilous spirituality, December 20, 2008

This book expresses the pivotal point of church pew sitters who have searched for their place in "the body" of Christ. Hooray that a pastor boldly addressed the Lord's heart regarding modern day discipleship and evangelism. It's wonderful to read what many of us have walked out for years. A "must READ" for those looking for their future in Christ.

5.0 out of 5 stars Find your place!, May 16, 2009
This review is from: The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution (Paperback)
Do you want to know your calling? This book reveals the seven major aspects of society in a way that helps you understand the 'mountain' to which you are called. It will motivate you on a personal level to lead an exciting and meaningful Christian life. On a macro level it provides incredible insights as to how we are to fulfill the mission of the church during these end days. For those who find some points to nitpick I would encourage you to stay with the plot and focus on the major theme - that God is inviting us to stop wandering around in the wilderness and to enter the promised land, to 'take' the seven nations (seven sectors of society) so that His authority and influence can flow through those institutions top down versus bottom up. This not only seems plausible from the standpoint of biblical interpretation, but logical from the standpoint of making our efforts to reach the unchurched more effective. Read this book with an open mind and you will discover that God has great plans for your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT FIRST BOOK ON THE MOST RELEVANT SUBJECT IN THE KINGDOM TODAY, September 9, 2009
This review is from: The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution (Paperback)
Johnny Enlow has written a trailblazer book on the powerful message of the Seven Mountains of Society. He releases fresh revelation, and combines it with what has already been taught by a brilliant Kingdom teacher named, Lance Walnau. Many traditional Bible teachers may find these revelations too "out of the box" for their traditional interpretation of Scripture, but those with ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches will find these teachings stimulating and will do a more diligent search to see if these things could be so.

The mandate from Heaven for the present time in history is similar to the mandate given to Joseph, Esther and Daniel. They were called to preserve life by using their anointing to rule and reign in troubled times. The seven mountains of society have been surrendered too willingly to the ungodly by the righteous. As a result, millions have been slaughtered in the womb and our children have been brainwashed in government schools with the doctrine of humanism. Christians are the tail and not the head and we seem to think God wants it that way.

There is yet a great harvest prophesied by Jesus to be brought in. God will use many presently unknown "mountain climbers" to facilitate that harvest. They will find their places on the mountains of: 1. Family, 2. Religion, 3. Government, 4. Education, 5, Arts and Entertainment, 6. Media and Communication, 7. Business and Finance.

Before reading the Seven Mountain Prophecy, I wrote Kings and Kingdoms and Finding Your Place on Your Kingdom Mountain. I encourage you to check them out as well.

If you are the type of Christian who wants to live in apathy, complacency or mediocrity, DO NOT read this book. It will cause an explosion in your spirit and challenge you to a deeper walk in the Lord and open your eyes to what the Holy Spirit has been trying to lead us into. It will cause you to look at the Kingdom of God in a whole new perspective. Johnny Enlow helps us to understand Rev. 11:15,"The Kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ and He shall reign forever and ever" and how we as the Body of Christ can and will make this happen. He identifies the problem and shows us how to overcome it. NO MORE EXCUSES! Come on people, it's time to take our mountains!!!

This book is life changing. You will look at everything you do, everything in your life, every situation different. The introduction alone left me so excited I couldn't sit still....I ended up reading it aloud to the first two people a ran into (my wife and business partner).

This book will open you to an entirely new world, and it will give your life a purpose. You will want to jump to action immediately.

1.0 out of 5 stars Reader beware., October 4, 2008

This review is from: The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution (Paperback)
At the urging of a friend I read this book. Before I say anything, I will remind the reader that God explicitly tells us to meditate on the Bible day and night and to do it every day. Reading "The Seven Mountain Prophecy" will let you know why it's so important to really, REALLY know what God says as opposed to what man says, and how to know when man is off the mark.

Without writing a "book" about the book, a very long story very short is that Johnny Enlow seems to be a nice guy with a heart for God, but in his attempt to somehow prove that Christians are to reign and redeem the world more and more until the time when Christ returns to earth and we'll have a great place for him to arrive at, he somehow, and amazingly, completely disregards the many, many, many verses stating as clearly as possible the exact opposite. Matt. 24 is enough to show this book is way, way off the mark and Matt. 24 also contains the dire warning: "... many false prophets will appear and deceive many people..."

To those who may want to read this book, go ahead, but measure it's truth by the Bible, not the other way around.

I feel this is a very dangerous book that can lull people into a very false idea of what lies ahead. Christians need to brace for the very, very worst that is coming, according to Scripture, worse than the world has ever seen before, meaning WWII atrocities will pale in comparison. Don't get sucked in. Good times are indeed coming, but not before very, very, very bad times arrive.

This was a easy read. Enlow has some valid points, and I agree with him. He makes a clairion call for us as christians to react, and do what God has already called for us to be doing.

This book highlights many areas of the spiritual realm here on earth that require considerable thought by any actively serious Christian.

This Seven Mountain Prophesy would seem to have some weight when considering scripture and the irrefutable truths contained.
