one of my all-time favorite CDs,

This review is from: Seven Second Surgery (MP3 Download)
I have always had a special respect for Canadian rock bands, like Rush, Marianas Trench, Hedley, and also Faber Drive. I was visiting Whistler one time, and i happened to come across this CD in a store. i had seen the cover a few times from recommendations, and without hearing a single track, i bought it. when i first listened to the opening track, "24-Story Love Affair," i was moderately impressed, as i was with "Tongue-Tied," also. When i reached "Second Chance," i was enthralled by the talent of this band. it was strong enough to hold my attention, yet meaningful and flowing enough to instantly make me like it. while the Album does have some downsides, like "Summer fades to Fall", all the other tracks are enjoyable enough to make up for that.
Standout tracks- -24-Story Love Affair -Tongue-Tied -Second Chance -Sleepless Nights -and Obvious i would highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes bands that can do rockin' stuff and emotional stuff equally well, or if you just want to find a new artist to add to your collection.

This band will have a better chance of hitting it big in the US that Hedley, a Canadian band that sounds so similar to Faber Drive you would swear they were the same. This sound is sort of a cross between Nickelback, Matchbox 20, and Blink-182. Imagine Rob Thomas singing "All the Small Things" and there you have this sound. Because of the enormous appeal that this rock sound has, radio programmers and DJ's should give this a long look, because there are a few potential smash hits here. "24 Story Love Affair" is the opening track, and probably the best track, very catchy and up-tempo. A few songs drag in terms of length, but this is tolerable because the melodies are good and the guitars are cranked up most of the time. We could forgive bands like NEW Found Glory for going artsy-fartsy on us if the songs still had a hard-rocking vibe (which, specifically aimed at YOU NFG, "Coming Home" did not), and fortunately, Faber Drive does rock out enough to make this a CD that you can play all the way through and enjoy it from beginning to end.
