Book Description

February 1, 2001
There are many 'modern' sins ensnaring more and more people everyday. Some are blatant, but many are secret, quickly seducing the participant into behavior that separates them from God. Popular pastor and author Erwin Lutzer exposes Satan's seven most common 'traps,' warning readers and giving them hope for liberation from these forms of bondage. Addressing greed, gambling, alcoholism, pornography, sexual freedom, pleasure, and occultism, Lutzer takes on tough and sensitive issues with great compassion and clarity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative, December 2, 2003
By
This review is from: Seven Snares of the Enemy (Paperback)
Dr. Lutzer starts out by talking about mastering one's desires. In this book on spiritual warfare he discusses the war within and how to be victorious. He distinguishes between temptation and sin. He writes, "a tendency is not necessarily a destiny."

His chapter on greed has some significant things to say about stewardship in general, as well as some solid and practical advice. He goes on to devote other chapters to various sins such as alcoholism, pronography, and occultism. His book is written for the overcomer, the one who wants to please God by conquering the negatives in one's life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Break Free, June 22, 2001

This review is from: Seven Snares of the Enemy (Paperback)
This book is excellent if you have ever struggled with any of the topics covered (gambling, alcohol, greed, lust) and want to break free of them. Each topic is covered with compassion for the person ensnared, and clear guidelines are given for getting past your sin and living a pure and holy life. It's very readable. Try other Lutzer books if you like his style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Putting words to the enemy's deceptions, January 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Seven Snares of the Enemy (Paperback)
This book exposes where the enemy tries to invade our everyday lives, especially for those living in the Western Cultures. In order to overcome these battles putting words to them helps significantly. E. Lutzer does an excellent job at exposing the lies of the enemy with no remorse or sympathy for what the enemy has done to our lives. Although the bible is helpful in resisting the temptations to sin at a personal level, it is a struggle to help loved ones overcome those battles as well. This would be a good book to give to those who are struggling in their sin or for those who have been victim to other's sins as well.
