Deepak Chopra is a well known and respected authority in the fields of holistic health and human potential. His latest book is "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success", a pocket-sized little volume of 'powerful pearls of wisdom' that provides the reader with a life-altering perspective on the attainment of success in the modern world. Challenging the myth that success if the result of hard work, exacting plans, or driving ambition, Chopra bases his observations and commentaries on the natural laws governing creation. The result is distilled into seven simple, powerful, universal principles that can be readily applied by ordinary people to create success in all the varied areas of their lives. A 'must read' for the legions of Deepak Chopra fans, "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" is very highly recommended for self-help, self-improvement, and human spirituality reading lists.

When I purchased this book, I thought it was simply a new edition of the original book of the same title. After all, why would it be necessary to "ABRIDGE" a 111-page book? Anyway, I ordered 12 copies of it as I was using it for a class. Only too late did I discover it was a shortened version of the original masterpiece (and Amazon would not exchange it for what I wanted). I suppose the book was reissued in this format as part of a new marketing effort associated with the DVD movie of the same name.
Whatever the reason, there is no need to buy this instead of the original title --which is a jewel for anyone's library!

I carry this little book of wisdom with me everywhere today, and have for the last three months now.

A very wise woman recommended "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" to me, and I am glad she did.

The only thing I could object to, if I had to; is the title; because the words LAW and SUCCESS might give the wrong associations, - because of the way those words are used or, abused, in the world - otherwise I think this little book is flawless, fascinating, simple and...true.
A treasure of wisdom the way Nature would write itself on paper.
I read it, like some people "read" nature, over and over again, and discover a multitude of different truths about life every time I do.

There is an easier way to get what you want from life, involving attunement with nature and the universe. The Best way to put the Law of Giving into operation...is to make a decision that at any time you come into contact with anyone, you will give them something. The Law of Least Effort is based the fact that nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease and abundant carefreeness. Karma and Dharma have been with us for eons, and they form two of Chopra's seven laws above. The Law of Pure Potentiality is humble and feel superior to noone because it recognises that everyone else is the same self, the same spirit in different guises. If you give, give joyfully. If you want to be blessed, silently bless people by sending them a bundle of positive thoughts. This is the Law of Giving. The Vedic principle of economy of effort says "do less and accomplish more". This is the Law of Less Effort. The Law of Intention and Desire occurs through the process of attention and intention. The Law of Detachment says that only from detached involvement one has joy and laughter. Together the 7 laws above become the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

I am not a fan of Deepak Chopra but enjoy these types of book. A friend gave me a copy and I read it based on his recommendation and the fact that this is such a short one.

I am glad I read this book because there are some very important lessons here.

The "laws" as I understand them:

1. You are pure potential
2. What do you want? Give it to others and get more in return.
3. What goes around comes around. Plant good seeds.
4. There is ease within all things in life.
5. Intention makes things happen the quickest. Desire, because of attachment, limits things.
6. Detachment - Do the "next right thing" and forget the outcome.
7. Everybody has a purpose. Follow it.

Probably things you have heard before, but I think he did a good job of explaining them and pointing out some things that many people wouldn't consider.

I think there is a lot of value in this book. It's making me reconsider Deepak Chopra and I'm going to pick up some of his other works.

A must read. A short concise, yet profound inspirational reading. I found in it a summary of my believes and a practical guide to success. I have already bought more than a dozen copies that I have given to family, friends and those in need of hope. Specially good for those not so fond of reading, because they can do it very quickly while learning a great deal. Thanks Deepak!

This a great, easy read. This is the type of book you can read over and over and you get something different from it every time. It's a great read for relieving stress and becoming inspired. I think everyone should read this book at least once.

Deepak's writing has always touched my heart. I own the book an have found the pocket book to be very useful. I keep this book in my car and read a chapter every now and then. It reminds me everyday the direction I have choosen and helps me stay on the path.

I've listened to the tapes for years and love having a small handbook to refer to at any time.
