Just the Necessary Info Please, September 20, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Seven Steps to Getting a Job Fast (Paperback)
On my quest for employment I have read many a job search book. This book is nice and compact, offering the necessary info and steps quickly. The book outlines the essential ways everyone should look for work, warm and cold networking, using the internet etc. Farr takes you on a journey of worksheets that, before you know it, leads you to the type of job you want and the skill you have to get it. Other books attempt to do similar things, but don't have the clear/clean path this book does. In short this book covers the entire job search process from resume to interview and everything in between, in a short percise and effective way. I highly recommend it.

I did it, and it WORKED!!!, September 10, 2011
This review is from: Seven Steps to Getting a Job Fast (Paperback)
Let me start by saying that I followed the advice from this book and within two weeks I got hired at a new job!!! This book flat out works! It is direct, it gives you the straight advice that a job seeker needs. It goes from identifying your key skills, setting a specific job objective, using the most effective methods to get a better job in less time, how to compose a great resume, organizing your time to get 2 interviews a day, improve your interviewing skills, and following up. THAT'S IT. The book delves into these topics in detail and VOILA, YOU CAN GET THAT JOB! If I would have read this book eight months ago when I got let go from my previous employer, I would have BEEN working! This book is a bit outdated, being that it was published 10 years ago. My only complaint would be that the advice about having a "scan-able" resume is unnecessary. In the day and time we live, every company uses email. You should definitely follow the advise of creating an electronic resume, turning it into an e-file, preferably in Word format, but anyone who's anyone probably knows this. If not, take heed. Other than that, this book is GREAT! You can probably find this book in your local library. If not, BUY IT!!! You will not be sorry.
