It's possible you might not be able to go 5 minutes without shouting out lyrics as though you have tourette's syndrom and when you're not doing that you're almost surely trying imitate their guitar riffs. To top it off Matt Davies is quite possibly the best singer out there next to Boy Sets Fire's Nathan Gray. If you don't want to pay for their import CD then this is your best alternative. There is little negative to say about this cd, mostly because this is about as good as music gets. (That is not an overstatement, at least based on my tastes)

1. 10:45 Amsterdam conversation...(8) Pretty good song, starts of with a Mudvayne-esque riff. Good scream and drive, but I feel it loses it when it gets to the chorus. Somewhat repetitive.

2. Red is the new black...(10/10) A very good song, no doubt. A bit long, however. Good singing, although he kind of sounds like Trapt.

3. Art of American Football...(9/10) Yeah, now this is better. A pretty hard song, to make up for #1. Don't know much to say, except it pounds.

4. Getaway Plan...(9/10) Sounds so much like Glassjaw sometimes it's scary. I think it said he was doing a Daryl tribute or something? Good tribute.

5. This years most open heartbreak...(9/10) A good song, with a very good chorus. It's just not...Awesome. I don't know how to explain.

6. Kiss and make up...(8) Sounds a lot like the new Further Seems Forever, with a bit more screaming. Good guitar parts though, and an emotional chorus.

7. Escape artists never die...(9/10) Good song, good middle, good everything, except for how long it takes to end. Too long.

This E.P. is as long as some bands' full length, so I don't know if that's good or bad. I guess it depends with each person. It's pretty good, but not of of screamo's best. Check it it out before purchase.

"Seven Ways To Scream Your Name" is the first U.S. release from Funeral For A Friend, from the U.K. The songs are taken from three U.K. releases. It is hard to describe FFAF's genre because they touch on a lot of different areas. Some of the songs have a hardcore feel, while others have a really soft emo style to them. Fans of either hardcore or emo could get into the band in my opinon. Having said all that, let me get to the album. Though this is not an amazing album, it's not too bad. Some of the songs (namely "The Art Of American Football") kind of drag a little. There are some great songs, however, like "Red Is The New Black" and "This Year's Most Open Heartbreak."

Rating: Three stars.
