Book Description

Cassidy Jordan knows she'll die a few weeks after her eighteenth birthday, and she can't wait. This is her second time here, and she knows what's waiting for her in The Life-After — the place most mistakenly call "the afterlife." Getting back there is supposed to be easy: she just has to find nineteen-year-old Riley Davis and help him get his life on track. But doing that isn't easy at all.

By the time Cassidy finds Riley, she has only seven weeks to help him before her time is up. Riley will die too young if she fails, and she'll never see The Life-After or have another chance at life again. But no one told her helping Riley would mean dating him; she hasn't dated anyone since the love of her first life caused her death the last time she turned eighteen. And no one warned her she'd cross paths with Selena Jensen, her ex-best-friend who hasn't forgotten why their friendship ended and is protective of Riley. Then there's Cassidy's family, who thinks she's a normal girl headed to Harvard in the fall. When her aunt discovers that's not the plan, she shows up to try and drag Cassidy from L.A. to Boston.

Helping Riley is already hard with her aunt and Selena in the way. It's almost impossible when Cassidy realizes she's falling for him and is faced with a choice: give Riley the life he's meant for and leave when it's time, or give up eternity for the true love she's never had, knowing Riley will die the same way she did in her first life and that her entire existence could end at any time.

What readers are saying about SEVEN WEEKS TO FOREVER:

"This is a great book... I couldn't put it down. I just had to know what was going to happen and what decisions Cassidy was going to make." -Reading in Black and White

"There is a roller coaster of emotions through the story which Farwell portrays beautifully - from first love to fear. I couldn't wait to reach the end to find out Cassidy's decision to the ultimate choice - give Riley the full life he was destined for, or fight for even a small amount of the true love she never had and risk losing Riley too soon." -A Novel Thought

"Overall, I definitely recommend picking up this novel. It's a great YA worth reading and has both character growth and romance. If you're looking for a good contemporary read with a little bit of paranormal, I'd definitely add this to your TBR pile or bookshelf!" -PopCrunchBoom

"I really liked this book overall. I found the writing (& editing!) solid, the story engaging, the main characters likeable, some of the conversation to be infused with great humor. It made me care." -Goodreads review

"This book reminds you that often times in love and life you have to make choices and sacrifices, but there isn't much that is more powerful than first love." -Amazon review

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Read July 25, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
As I finished reading this book yesterday I was faced with a major panic how on earth was I going to get across to my readers all that makes this book so good. It is a love story which is easy enough to convey but it also deals with the after life and the consequences of our actions, and this is what I need to tell you about today.

Seven Weeks to Forever is first of all a gorgeous looking book, I was lucky enough to receive an actual physical copy, the cover was gorgeous and I know it sounds daft but the book feels nice too, so big thumbs up for the paper that makes it up!!

Anyway I need to concentrate on the inside!, the book is told from the POV of Cassidy Jordan, seventeen at the beginning of the book, recently moved to LA, she has seven weeks to live, she will die a few weeks after her eighteenth birthday, she is not scared, she has been expecting this.

Cassidy has been here before and she has been sent back from The Life After (what we know as the afterlife) to help a young man find his way after tragedy has struck him, that young man is Riley Davis and for the next seven weeks it is up to her to make him start living his life, if she fails Riley will die far too young and she will lose her right to return to the Life After, the only problem she has no idea how to turn his life around.

Cassidy and Riley's first encounters start off almost by fate as he comes to her rescue one night and they meet again shortly after in a record store, they seem drawn to one another and they are soon getting to know one another a lot better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful story. perfect timing of reading for me. June 23, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Sometimes I will read a book, hear a song, see a move that resonants deep within me. The message in the book, song, movie may be new to me or not. Either way the timing of it is perfect. I suffer with chronic genetic depression. Sure I take my meds. and live a full life within the natural boundaries of my disability. But sometimes I'll catch myself thinking that my husband would be happier if we lived apart from each other which is so not true.
We've have had 12 years together with the great moments far out numbering the bad.
I highlighted a few passages in the book to save and have put the book in my keep collection for those moments when I need remindng to love and be loved without fear.
Perhaps some will think that a book review should be just that,a book review and thats ok. For me personally I find I sometimes need to write a review from a personal emotional point of view.
As for the authors style of writing and storytelling I liked it so much that I just downloaded her other book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vivid and endearing storytelling. August 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Cassidy Jordan has met a pretty fantastic guy named Riley. Teen romance at it's finest, right? Wrong. Cassidy has a mission to accomplish - She actually is trying to get back to The Life-After and saving Riley is the mission that she is tasked with. She has a deadline and a witty guide, Noah, who sometimes provides help when he isn't providing Cassidy with more questions than answers, to lead her, but the heart is not always fond of schedules. The author has crafted a beautiful story of love, faith, and hope. Well developed characters that tug at your heart every step of the way as pasts are revealed and Cassidy questions whether she can ultimately fall in love with Riley, allow him to fall in love with her, and then devastate him when she leaves. As the reason behind the mysterious feathers that appear frequently throughout the book is revealed, you will be on the edge of your seat with hope for Cassidy to get her happily ever after. A strong sophomore novel from Jennifer Farwell, who clearly has a talent for bringing her characters to life and leave you hoping for more to come from her soon.

This book is well written and engaging. Cassidy is a fantastic character that you can totally relate to. I could not put this book down. The premise of the book is unique - totally something I could see being made into a tv show or a movie.

I'm not into the new-agey beliefs about reincarnation and so on, but the novel itself is well written and the main character's voice was very strong. It could kind of get a little preachy about some of the new age beliefs, however, that did not take away from the obvious talent that this author has in writing and story-telling. Not only that, she has established a clear, specific author-voice, that is, the style of her writing and it works very well. It's nice to read a Young Adult / teen novel where the main character isn't whining or being dramatic or overreacting to every situation he/she is in. Lastly - and this is from a writer's point of view - it's interesting to read a book in first person present tense, v. first person past tense. I've noticed that the first person present tense is becoming more popular lately too. It was a good choice for this story.
