This year our congregation is focusing on something I call "Kingdom Living." What does it mean to live out "Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

Throw in the fact that our church has a new screen and projection system, and I really wanted to incorporate some information on the meaning and practice of worship.

When I found this book, I knew I hit the jackpot. The seven words of worship has been a wonderful resource for me as I prepared 7 weeks of sermons. While I focused on the seven words, and used many of the recommended texts, the sermons were obviously unique to our congregation.

What I love most about this book is that it takes you step-by-step along a journey that leads you to the very heart of worship - God. I recommend this to pastors looking for a resource for a sermon series, to individuals who are looking for a book to study on their own, and small groups who are looking for a book to go through together.

I do want to warn you that while there are only 7 words, there are many more chapters, with each word broken into multiple aspects. So if you are doing this as a study, keep that in mind.

Wow! I was expecting a book about the kinds of music we do in church and 'words' that we use in worship like- 'hallelujah,' or 'hosanna.' But it was so much deeper than that. The '7 words of worship' were revelation to me of how to respond to God because of Who He is and what He has done in my life. If the church grasps this message, it could very well be the end of the 'worship wars' that have plagued the church. Get this book for everyone in your church!
