5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely one for the ATB fan, new or old.
You get 5 brand new tracks, 1 remake or an old track, and 14 singles which ATB has released over the past 7 years. Amazon is selling a few imports and this one, which appears to be the single disc US version. I have the original German release on Kontor, which comes with a Bonus DVD that has all his videos right up to the two new singles from this album, Believe in Me...

2.0 out of 5 stars I Didn't Get It
I'm relatively new to the dance scene and I have heard a lot of hype about ATB so I finally picked up this cd figuring a greatest hits would be the way to go. I understand that ATB is a vocal trance artist but I have a massive complaint: it seems like the ONLY thing that makes ATB distinctive is his use of vocals. If the vocals were stripped away from the music we would...

You get 5 brand new tracks, 1 remake or an old track, and 14 singles which ATB has released over the past 7 years. Amazon is selling a few imports and this one, which appears to be the single disc US version. I have the original German release on Kontor, which comes with a Bonus DVD that has all his videos right up to the two new singles from this album, Believe in Me and Humanity. You also get photos, interviews, and the making of the Believe in Me video, and an alternate Belive in Me video.

Most of the videos were on his DVD he released in 2004, except Long Way Home, which you could only get on that CD single; Marrakech, which was on the import No Silence limited edition set; and Ecstasy, which was on the US No Silence. If you buy the import, you won't get the DVD to play on your normal player, but maybe in your computer. If you are looking for a complete set of videos, and can play this PAL formatted DVD, this makes the import more attractive. If you already have most of his videos and don't have to have Marrackech or Believe in Me videos, you can just stick with this US copy, which is basically a best of, with some new tracks and edits.

The first of the new singles is Believe in Me, sung by 4 Strings member Jan Loechel. It's a nice club/dance track, but I prefer the peppier versions on the CD single over the album version. The new Tiff Lacey voiced track, Humanity, is excellent, and while I haven't heard the remixes yet, the album version works just fine. It's a breakbeat/trance blend that Tiff sings her heart out on. Jan Leochel also sings an updated version of Let U Go, which I liked. It's a slower paced version that refreshes the song nicely.

The 14 "best of" tracks are all his single releases, and they are all either radio edits or album versions. The radio edit of the new vocal remix of In Love With the DJ hasn't been on any other album, and the Here With Me radio edit was an internet exclusive, so even in the collection of past hits, there are some new perks.

Over the past 7 years, no trance DJ/producer has been more prolific in releasing high quality vocal trance, instrumental trance, artist albums, and mix CD's than ATB. If you are a new fan, I would highly recommend this, just don't pass up some of is albums, thinking you are getting everything here, because you will miss out on a lot of great music (like one of my favorite instrumental trance tunes of all time -- Mysterious Skies off No Silence). Only his radio play releases are here. If you are a regular ATB fan, I am sure you are going to purchase this anyway!

4.0 out of 5 stars Seven Years, December 20, 2005
This review is from: Seven Years: 1998-2005 (Audio CD)
I bought ATB's Seven Years basically because I knew 9:00 (Til I Come) and had heard his name as being highly regarded in the trance/dance genre. So I didn't know a lot about him going in.

After a couple listens though, I have to say, this is a really good CD. It's very upbeat and the beats are top notch. The textures to his music create a very warm sound. It doesn't sound too synthesized. During one of the slower songs, it kind of reminded me of Robert Miles' classic "The Children".

Another thing is that this music has been recorded over 7 years since 1998, but you really wouldn't know it. If you told me this was all brand new music, I'd probably believe it. ATB's music has definitely aged nicely over these last 7 years. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Andre Tanneberger collection, October 17, 2005

This review is from: Seven Years: 1998-2005 (Audio CD)
Here you have all his hit songs from the past Seven Years (1998-2005) under his name ATB. The album starts off in the year 2005, and moves backwards into his productions. (For me it would have been better to have it start from the first album, as you can hear the difference in sound and production from his first song and last.)

From his first hit single, 9PM, which was named after which time it was when he completed it, to 6 brand-new tracks made just for this collection, this is perfect for anyone wanting to get a complete ATB album or for any ATB fan.

From Movin' Melodies (9PM, Don't Stop), Killer) to Two Worlds (The Summer, The Fields of Love) you hear ATB's signature guitar sounds.

Once you venture into his album Dedicated, you don't hear that sound anymore but you still get ATB as he evolves (Let U Go, Hold You, You're Not Alone) as he features Roberta Carter Harrison as the vocals on the album.

ATB really showcases his music in Addicted to Music (I Don't Wanna Stop, Long Way Home, In Love With the D.J.) and shows a more mature, more developed style of music. He again works with Roberta to make some beautiful tracks.

We then get to his most recent album, No Silence, where he shows a truly versatile side with variedsong arrangements and styles. With the first single featured in the movie, Mindhunters, Marrakech finally features a new vocalist, Tiff Lacey (Oakenfold, Conjure One). As well as two other tracks, Ecstasy and Here With Me.

The rest are 5 new tracks and a 2005 re-work of "Let U Go", sung by the same vocalist on the third track as well as guitar melodies... (Roberta does a better job in my opinion, though the slower-pace and guitars are pretty sweet.)

All tracks are edited for time and some are different from their original album appearences. You'll find edits that have never made any singles.

With 6 brand-new tracks and edited tracks, this is definitely something for any ATB fan to get.

Even if you're not a ATB album collector, it is definitely something to get your hands on if you have never experienced the sounds of ATB.

5.0 out of 5 stars ATB's Best, April 29, 2006
This review is from: Seven Years: 1998-2005 (Audio CD)
Wow this cd is great it has 6 brand new songs one remix and all atb's greatest it cannot be beat.
Humanity,Believe in Me, Trilogy Pt.2, Take me over, Far Beyond, and here with me are the six new songs are the are in the same ranking as Ecstasy, in quality. these songs are so full of sound that even a person who doesnt normaly like techno would be impressed. The new mix of Let U Go is great for trance lovers it is more acoustic and slower than the original version.
After those first seven songs come Ecstasy, Marrakech and In Love With the DJ. each has a very full sound to it (and is some of the best quality iv heard in a long time).
And after that comes the classic ATB songs such as Dont stop, the summer, 9 PM (till I come) and so on. this cd is great for those first time listeners or for those that are hudge ATB fans. I completly support buying this CD.

I have over 1,000 CDs and this is one of the few that I can listen from beginning to end, over and over again. Several songs are classics in my opinion: "Hold You," "You're Not Alone," "Ecstasy," "In Love With the D.J.," "Long Way Home." If you're not familiar with ATB, this album is a great introduction.

I really enjoy the sound of ATB. This cd gives you the songs that we know from the radio plus a few new songs which I really enjoyed. I definitely recommend this CD if you are a fan of ATB. It's a mix some trance and house with a pop edge too.

In my very knowledgeable opinion of the trance/techno music genre, ATB is one of the most brilliant DJs of this era. With that being said imagine taking this DJ's best work and throwing into one anthology. This is what Seven Years is all about and I'm sure any ATB fan can hardily disagree. 6 of the 20 tracks are completely new never before released tracks that are amazingly on par with the rest of the hits on this album. My sole disappointment with Seven Years is the absence of transitions. There is sort of an awkward 3 second pause in between each track which kind of interrupts the emotion in my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is ATB music, December 22, 2005
This review is from: Seven Years: 1998-2005 (Audio CD)
I am going to put the facts to end all your worries of this Cd.
This cd is packed with vocals so if you hate music with vocals skip this one.
This music is not good trance or probably not even trance.
This music should not be compared with other djs like Oakie, Tiesto cause this music is really different.
For me this was very enjoyable and was my first Cd to try to introduce myself to trance and this might be a good place for Americans to be introduced.

This really has the American feeling even though ATB is not american.

This cd is full of great songs that some would consider classics.

But this genre should be more like trance-pop or stuff like that not trance cause then people would expect this on other djs.

Verdict: 4.6 out of 5.0 Buy it if you have been listening music from the radio and want to start to go to trance slowly. Probably avoid this if just a trance lover. But I listen to all type of music so for those that are open to everything must buy.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Seven Years: 1998-2005 (Audio CD)
The songs included in this CD are the best of the best from 1998-2005, as indicated in the title. All of his most popular hits are on this CD. From the ever-famous "9 PM" to other international hits such as "You're Not Alone", this CD will make your car ride feel too short cause you just want to keep driving with ATB playing in your speakers.

This makes me look forward to the next Seven Years type of CD. Soon, I hope?

I wasn't an ATB fan before but I had discovered 'Long way home' through Pandora and it just filled my soul so much that I had to get the song. After sampling the rest of the cd, I decided to buy it and haven't been disappointed. It's in constant rotation on my playlist with the following track ranks:
5 Stars: Long way home, I don't wanna stop, Don't stop
4 Stars: Long way home (orig mix), trilogie pt. 2, Ecstasy, Hold you, Let u go,
3 Stars: Humanity, Let U go (reworked), believe in me, take me over, here with me, marrakech, In love with the DJ, You're not alone, 9pm Till I come, Believe in me (DJ Atoine)

and the other 5 tracks are 2 stars.

That's a pretty good ratio for a 17 track cd. Definitely worth it!
