5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Put it Down!, September 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Seven Years of Surrender (The Journey Series) (Kindle Edition)
This story was life-changing for me, and I can hardly wait for the next book in the series! Cassandra's struggles with long term excruciating pain that held her hostage are described in such a way that I wanted to put my arms around her and help her to be safe. She has managed to describe the indescribable.

Emotionally abandoned by friends, family, and even her own husband, Cassandra continued to manage to dig deeply into her soul in order to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Her detailed descriptions of what she went through physically made me flinch and grimace. What she went through mentally and emotionally often brought me to tears.

I seldom read a book more than once; however, I am considering restarting this one almost immediately.

In addition, I have just downloaded "Blackwater", a novel that Cassandra wrote during this time in her life (under the name C. D. Blizzard). I'm looking forward to enjoying her writing style again. She is an amazing writer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrifying, Powerful, Inspirational, January 9, 2012

I devoured this book in a single day. Cassandra's story is utterly terrifying, yet contains highly valuable lessons regarding trusting oneself, relying on self and manifesting our way forward. She learned the hard way. This is a humbling, awe-inspiring story. Thank you Cassandra for sharing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down !, July 31, 2011
This review is from: Seven Years of Surrender (The Journey Series) (Kindle Edition)
Cassandra is a powerful writer this true story had me literally gripping my chair, I found myself right in the story almost shouting out to Cassandra warning her of danger etc, it's a book that makes you sit up and take stock of your own life, making you feel there is nothing on this earth that can stop you, everything can be over come if you trust in yourself, as the reader I could feel the book is written from the heart and I can't wait for her other books to be published, if you only buy one book this year, then make sure this is it !

5.0 out of 5 stars Waiting For This, July 23, 2011
By
This review is from: Seven Years of Surrender (The Journey Series) (Kindle Edition)
If you have been waiting for this book by renowned Psychic Medium Cassandra Blizzard, you are not alone. I previewed this book, and I was humbled. The author states in the beginning of this book that this is not a story about how she became psychic. She was born a medium. She also states that this is not a story about tragedy. It's a story about becoming. It is really about the time she spent wrestling with her own soul, in a struggle for her very life, a fight for her existence, a cry for help, a plea for independence....and during this seven year span, she became more deeply aware of some spiritual tenants that sustained her. Being that this book is autobiographical in nature, the author only shares a glimpse of these spiritual ideas and promises to tell us more in the books that follow in her spiritual series. But she also states that it is important for the reader to know where she has been before we can fully understand. I agree. And the author is correct. Would you listen to a guru who never understood struggle? Would you listen to someone who cannot relate to you on a deep level? Would you really listen to something coming from a person who never knew a hard day in their life, someone who was privileged and wealthy? Probably not. But you most likely would listen to what someone has to say when they have been in your shoes, or worse. You would listen if you knew they had struggled, had known pain, had known loss, had been stripped of everything they could be stripped of...and yet...still lived. And not only lived, but went on to become such a public figure. Cassandra Blizzard takes a lot of risks in telling this story. She risks alienating her clientele by admitting that she also has experienced weak moments in life, moments where she didn't listen to her own intuition. She opens herself in such a raw, honest way that it is impossible not to feel her pain. It takes guts to write something like this. This is about as candid as it gets. My hat is off to her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, Gripping Story, July 25, 2011
This review is from: Seven Years of Surrender (The Journey Series) (Kindle Edition)
This book is powerful. I couldn't stop reading it. I don't know anyone that could have survived what she has gone through without completely falling apart. To be told that you will never heal when you can't even move your head or talk, can't take a walk, and are in constant pain. I couldn't imagine feeling all that and then the emotional side of being told that for the rest of your life you would just be a lump unable to interact, a prisoner behind your eyes. Like watching a movie but being stuck in a bed and not being able to experience any of it or live any of it. As scary and tragic as this story is, she persevered. She proved them wrong. This author's writing makes you feel every moment of the story. She has stated that she held some things back in the writing of this book, but I have to say that she really opens up and gets pretty detailed about the very beginning stages of what happened to her. I found myself suddenly crying from sadness numerous times. Only to have tears of joy at the end. You will walk away from this book inspired. This book just begins to open the lock on the door of spiritual enlightenment and I can't wait until she opens that door in her next book! The way Cassandra Blizzard writes this book is very moving, and it puts the reader right in the story. The opening immediately got my attention. I kept thinking I could put it down, but I just kept turning the pages, wanting to know more of what happened. I will definitely be reading her series. Would love to meet her personally and discuss more, but I'm sure she will not disappoint me with the other books in the series she talks about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable Story of Hope and Survival, July 23, 2011
This review is from: Seven Years of Surrender (The Journey Series) (Kindle Edition)
This woman is a total inspiration. Powerfully written story. I could not put it down. What an amazing journey about survival. I swear, this woman has a will of iron to be able to get through all that she did and come out the other side with a desire to help people. I can't wait for the next book in her series. I'm sure all of her books will be very interesting and worthy of being read. This book is a keeper. I am sure I will read it many times. One of the things that really struck me about Ms. Blizzard as an author is that she grips you right from the first sentence. And she tells her story in such a candid way. She bravely revealed so much of herself. I'm not sure if I could have opened up like that. A very honest, straightforward peek into the life of a woman who definitely has something to say. I'm listening. Hurry up and write more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Seven Years of Surrender and incredible journey, February 5, 2012
Good writing, peppered with strong exclamations, puts forth an extensive description of a depressive and excruciating painful time in a psychic's life caused by Ciguatoxin poisoning. This strange ongoing illness is only part of her despair; a rocky abrasive relationship; a dysfunctional intrusive mother, and inept medical support all share in a tremulous time for this psychic which the book provides in lengthy detail. But after 500 pages of depressive darkness, which appears to have no resolution, dawns a light resulting from prayer and trust. Seven Years of Surrender to find the light is an incredible journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and Inspiring!, December 22, 2011
This review is from: Seven Years of Surrender (The Journey Series) (Kindle Edition)
This book really evoked so many emotions for me and it will for anyone who reads it.
Cassandra opens up completely to tell her story that you feel like you're right along side her on this journey as she goes through the illness, her relationships, and her life during this time. The suffering she went through physically and emotionally made me want to reach out and hug her through the book! It really does put things in perspective that the things we are so used to complaining about day to day are so trivial. It inspires to never give up hope, that with endurance and strength anything can be accomplished. As much as I wanted to reach out with comfort, I was also comforted myself by her words. It definitly hits you on a personal level one way or another, and then there is that "ah-ha" moment, where you feel like you aren't alone in the world. I can't wait until the next book in the series!
