5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased., September 12, 2005
This review is from: Seventh Generation, Bathroom Tissue 2-ply/400 Count, white unscented, 12 Rolls (Health and Beauty)
Wonderful tp. Strong, quite soft, and heathful: Some members of our family had problems with a bleeding behind, but because this tp doesn't contain the chemicals of "false softness, fragrances, and chlorine" that cause irritations to the skin, they no longer have any trouble. Seventh Generation paper products are the best!

4.0 out of 5 stars I think it's the perfect blend for t.p., August 18, 2005

I am pleased with the blend of the strength and softness for Seventh Generation toilet paper. I don't find it rough, and I tend to be a pamper-pleasure gal. My preference is to use a brand of toliet paper that doesn't leave little t.p. pills behind. Too soft of toilet paper does leave pills behind and that is horrible. I find the greatest difference in this aspect and am glad for Seventh Generations quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars 100% recycled, 80% post-consumer, 90% perfect, March 18, 2011
This review is from: Seventh Generation, Bathroom Tissue 2-ply/400 Count, white unscented, 12 Rolls (Health and Beauty)
So I'll admit... I used the ribbed Cottonelle before this brand existed. I've been in homes with the cheaper 365 and bought--when this was on sale and totally out of stock--a single roll of Green Forest as well. 365 is flimsy, takes more to absorb the same amount, and is scratchy, so nope, not for me. Green Forest was also thinner/less absorbent, actually more costly in local stores overall, and likewise not especially comfortable--neutral on comfort, fall-apart lousy on structure.

Then we have Seventh Generation. I've had a roll here or there that didn't really stack up, yes, and I can only assume that since it's recycled, there will be a slight variation batch to batch... BUT overall, nearly all have been excellent, and were I to go back to Cottonelle, I'd be killing trees (0% recycled!), I'd be emitting harmful gasses into the environment (bleached by chlorine when there are MUCH cleaner alternatives that don't impact softness or durability=profit greed, plain and simple!), and also that fall apart--the person who mentioned the kinds that leave the little bits of lint behind reminded me that is the big downside of Cottonelle, which incidentally has gone down down down in quality over time (still the "best" of the earth-killing brands, but cmon, Kimberly-Clarke, you've done your work on diapers... why not TP/paper towels??). Anywho, this is comparable to Northern in the pattern-feel, it's not the fuzzy dusty fluff of cottonelle OR the fall-apart disintegrate-upon-contact kind like Charmin (which never felt soft to me)... it's the right balance for me. I'd like it to be a tiny bit thicker to use less sheets and last longer, I'd like the rolls to be real double rolls, and so on, but I can't honestly complain. The harmful chemicals in the other kinds may make it temporarily feel softer, but as far as skin is concerned, the Kleenex and Northern and Charmin and Angel Soft (soft must mean the opposite in heaven!) kinds are VERY hazardous and in the long run will only make the skin more fragile, more prone to flaking and breaking, and less able to do its job--protecting the other organs that it covers.

Incidentally, I've never bought the single rolls of this brand, only the big packs like this, so my review is ONLY applicable to this--I honestly never quite "got" the whole buy rolls one at a time bit unless maybe it's a NYC studio. Even my Seattle highrise has room to shove TP in a plastic bin or under the sink!
