What the....?,

This review is from: Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Diapers, Stage 1 (8-14 Lbs.), 44 Count (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
I just got my second shipment of stage 1 for my two month old. This is a different diaper. It is thinner, the tabs are no longer elaticized so it isn't flexible when she wiggles, and it is cut crooked- meaning the whole thing appears to have been run through the diaper-making-machine unevenly so it looks sloppy when it's on. In addition to this, it is more expensive! I have a whole case-full to find out about the capacity for wetness (the old ones were great). Why would Seventh Generation create such a poor product when they had such a great reputation? I won't be able to buy these again. Chlorine free or no, it has to work.

We care about the environmental impact of disposable diapers, but cloth diapering is just too time consuming for our busy lives. We wanted to do cloth diapers with a service, but the local company was too disorganized for our taste. I bought a pack of these chlorine-free diapers the morning I went into labor because I knew the cloth diapers we had at home might be too large for our little one's bum. Well, we wound up really liking them. They work really well at stopping leaks as long as you make sure the waist area is on tight enough (sometimes a challenge with any diaper when your baby kicks a lot). I would recommend that you go up a size when your baby gets to the lower limit of the next size, rather than staying with the smaller one till its upper limit. (For instance, NB goes to 10lbs, but after 8.5 lbs or so, go on up to size 1). Our little boy is a champion pee-er, so the newborn ones were overwhelmed when he reached about 9 lbs. (If you have a boy, you know what I mean: they aim out the side sometimes, which can be very messy if the diaper is a bit too snug). I like that these diapers help us practice environmental diligence that we can manage with our busy lifestyle, and our baby is comfortable.

These diapers give the same protection as non eco friendly diapers. We have had no problems with leaks. We love them!

The best diapers we've used,

These diapers are the best we've used. In the size 1 we've also tried huggies, pampers, and g-diapers. The Seventh Generation diapers hold more liquid than all of those. The elastic around the legs is also the snuggest without being irritating to my twin boys' skin or legs. I highly recommend these diapers.

Great quality! I love these diapers. Great for sensitive skin. However, the size 1 is supposed to fit up to 14 lbs... my daughter is still under 12 lbs & they are way too small. Had to order the next size.

I like this product for it's lack of scent. When you compare it to Pampers it is amazing how bad the Pampers smell.
However, the fit is not nearly as good because they don't have the stretchy tabs. Also, my daughter is only 11.5 lbs and these seem small on her already. Additionally, I have had several efective diapers in the last batch where the sticky stuff was off the tabs and the diapers were not useable.

not absorbent and too small,
This review is from: Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Diapers, Stage 1 (8-14 Lbs.), 44 Count (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
pros: smell freecons: -too small...it says upto 14 lbs, my baby is 8lbs and slim, the diaper is small for her - do not absorb well - horrible rash is a result... - too "plastic" - baby's back sweat in it - too expensive....

comparing Earth's Best,
This review is from: Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Diapers, Stage 1 (8-14 Lbs.), 44 Count (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
I love the fit of these and I love that there are no dyes or colors or scents to it. Earth's best fits the same but has a scent to it which I do not like at all. Earth's best holds more and doesn't have to be changed as often which is great for the night. I wish I had the holding capacity of Earth's best with the undyed and unscented loveliness of the Seventh Generation. 4 stars for both of them. They are both way better than Pampers, Huggies and Luvs especially at containing. The fit of these are great.

not as great as expected,

If you can get over the fact that they are brown (unbleached IS a good thing) they aren't as as bad as some of the eco-friendly ones I've tried (and certainly it was better not to have that terrible plastic smell of traditional diapers) but I found these to be stiff, thin, and not as absorbent as Nature Baby Care diapers which are super-absorbent, soft, and instead of plastic, made with a highly biodegradable corn-based film Nature Babycare Eco-Friendly Chlorine-Free Diapers, Size 1 (8-14 Pounds), 40 Diapers (Pack of 4) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]
