This review is from: Seventh Generation Training Pants [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] (Health and Beauty)
I decided to try the Seventh Generation training pants for night time use. Two of my sons still need training pants at night and one would wake up soaked each night. I thought I'd try this brand.
The Seventh Generation product is much more absorbent than the other brands I have tried. They also smell better somehow. When my son wakes up his training pants don't smell like they used to. Although they are more expensive when you figure price per training pant, I don't go through as many as I did with other brands since he lasts through the night with just one. I think the sizing had to do with the shape of the child. I strictly used the weight guide and have found these to run larger than other brands. One of my kids has a rounder tush and would often need a bigger size training pant. I didn't have to do that with Seventh Generation because they are cut better for him. My oldest son is weighs more than the weight range I purchased. He has no tush or tummy and he fit just fine in a smaller size. Again, I was not able to do this with other brands. I don't mind not having resealable sides. The pants are easy to get in and out of for potty use. They also don't tear as easily as other brands. I don't have as many wasted diapers this way. I order these exclusively online as I can't find them in large enough quantities in the store. I've bought from several online sites and the price is usually about the same. I wish I would have used this brand from day one.

Replaces night-time "Pull Ups",

We use these on our 3 year old, who only wears them at night and for afternoon nap. We were previously using the Pull Ups night time pants. 4 nights in a row now and not a single leak. He has not had a bowel movement in them, however, but they contain the pee just as well as the other brand.

These pull up are true pull up pants. They do not have the velcro connectors like most pull ups. This really helps my 2 year old put them on herself. The ones with velcro usually open up with a toddler yanking on them.
They also have a cloth feel to them rather than the rough course feel of most other pull ups. They are also more absorbent than most pull ups I've tried. I prefer these over all other ones I've tried for absorbency, ease of use, quality and value.

Hold up well,

My son wears a 4t and these pants are a little tight on him. Also he has never had a leak in them. Basically they are a recycled looking pull up that holds well.

We have been using these training pants for more than one of our little guys. Currently 2yr and 3yr olds.
We only use this item for nights; days are underwear. One little guy is not a heavy night wetter and they work perfect. Second is a heavy night wetter and he often wakes in the morning having wet through his pull up, jammies and bed. As I stated he is a heavy wetter, so in my opinion/experience; using these for 3 children, they really are great. Chlorine free- (however, I wish they were also more natural with their absorbancy.) Earths Best does not have a training pant variety, so in NH, this is my best option. I can also purchase at ToysRus. Do not choose these training pants based on age, the weight does seem to be more accurate- both of my boys are in the largest size (4/5t). The sides are easy to tear away if you choose. They are a natural color if that matters. When I first was interested in this product I phoned Seventh Generation and they very happily mailed me a few of each size before I commited to purchasing a case. FYI they are more expensive through Seventh Gen!

Mixed Feelings,
This review is from: Seventh Generation Training Pants [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] (Health and Beauty)
While I respect and approve of Seventh Generation's business philosophy (and use and love many of their other products), I was not pleased with the 4T-5T pull-ups. Compared to other brands, this line seems to run small, and because of that, did not fit my child well. It did not fully cover his bottom, even though other brands in 4T-5T covered completely with no problem.
I am disappointed because I do like this company, and I have bought such a large supply! However, I am happy to say that I gave the remainder of my supply to a friend whose child is younger/smaller so they went to good use.

We bought the same size of these that we have used in the seventh gen. diapers, and found 2 of the 4 packages (we didn't bother opening the other 2) to contain diapers that did not fit my daughter. I don't know if they were sized wrong, but they did not cover her tush. This lead to many leaks and baby wedgies - not fun. I am not planning to buy this product again.

I love getting these pull-ups with autoship. I also like the quality/absorbancy of the seventh generation brand. Just make sure you go one size up- my daughter is 27 lbs.. and kind of a skinny bean at two, but she wears a 3t-4t in the seventh generation brand. Any other brand she's a normal 2T size but not with these. Even ordering up they are snug and never leak. At least that's been our experience.!

I was hesitant to even try these out- since the only diapers my son has worn successfully (without leaks, bunching, etc..) has been Huggies Pull Ups. But- I LOVE LOVE LOVE these training pants! Not only are they "green"- but they WORK. They don't leak, they contain everything and ordering them online and having them delivered to my door has been LIFE CHANGING!!! (wish I would have done this 3 years ago) I recommend these to anyone wanting to make the switch to a greener diaper.

Great product - but buy the next size up from your normal training pant size,

These are much more absorbent than your typical pullup - we make it through the whole night with no leak disasters, even into waking up, and him not making it to the potty before he lets loose.
The only thing I'd say is that these are much snugger fitting than the Huggies brand we'd been getting. My little guy is about 36 pounds, 36" tall, and I figured we could make it with the 3-4T (32-40 lbs, mostly because there's more in the package). They are super snug on him, and he's constantly having them ride up (so unless you want your kid announcing to everyone out in public that s/he has a wedgie, get the next size up). We love these though, and will definitely get the bigger size when we reorder. |
